20 Sep 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Early afternoon visit – just a couple of other customers present. What a great place. As a confirmed bookworm, I was so engrossed with the shelves of books and the pile that I had accumulated on my table that I nearly forgot to drink my beer.
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40 | | Very dark, caramel-flavoured, hop-free mild. Not in the greatest condition here if truth be told. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | Not Tried

First visit here on my whistle stop of Broadstairs. I liked it. Stood chatting to Blair about beer Italy and gin The gin selection is amazing with Martin Millers the stand out so far
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | | Cooler temp than at Four Candles but naybe not quite as hoppy. Arh the joys of cask beer. |
Westerham - Audit Ale | 6.20 | Not Tried
Wantsum - 1381 | 3.80 | Not Tried
07 Aug 2012 (Philip Pirrip)
2nd visit after mulling over the first one. I concluded that the difficulty I had with the pub was its clutter and, to my mind, its disorganisation having nowhere to really stand at the bar nor any other clear focal point. This does not engender a peace of mind - it is a house style as I feel that way in the sister pub The Lifeboat too. Nevertheless a small bar emphasising local beers on gravity stillage is a welcome addition to Broadstairs's profile.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | | Maybe my buds but not quite the finesse of the earlier pint |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day | 4.30 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Blue Top | 4.80 | Not Tried
Westerham - 1965 Special Bitter Ale | 4.80 | Not Tried
