CAMRA regional social....so liked this pub that I can't read my notes from any later pubs on the trip, so entries for Harp and Market Porter will have to wait for another day !...50p off to CAMRA members makes London prices much better too !

What a pub! Absolutely rammed but we managed to find a couple of stools in the corner. 10 ales on, 7 on gravity 3 on handpull. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in London.
BeerABVScoreNotes
RCH - Old Slug Porter4.50ExcellentCoffee and dark fruit, really good full-flavoured porter.
Cotleigh - Buzzard4.80GoodLots of chocolate, roasted malt and some nuts. Really quite good.
Banks's - Ringwood Fortyniner4.90AcceptableI have many fond memories of this beer and this half has almost ruined them for me. Very sweet and cloying, none of the rich malt flavours I remember.
Sambrook's - Wandle3.80AcceptableSlightly pukey aroma which was a little offputting. However, the hoppy, grassy flavour was good and partly made up for it.
Sambrook's - Junction4.50AcceptableSweet, malty and creamy. Didn't really know what to make of it, not bad though.
Morrissey Fox - Mulled Ale4.60PoorNot a good beer I'm afraid. Some synthetic fruit with an overpoweringly sweet buttery flavour. Lots of diacetyl, struggled with a half.

Good boozer near Euston station, which is handy and they have expanded the number of beers they have, mostly served on gravity. Mix of real ale drinkers and people popping in for a drink before catching a train.

Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Swing Low (was 4.1% when Gale's Swing Low)3.50AcceptableCopper, no head. Ok bitter, some fruit salad flavour. OK condition, some biscuity malt. It's a bitter.
North Yorkshire - Flying Herbert4.80AcceptablePale chestnut colour, no head. Tasty enough bitter. Some syrupy malty fruity body. Some tingle on finish. Bit of yeast on aroma. OK.
Rugby - Sinner-man4.70UndrinkableDeep, ruby chestnut colour, no head. Something artificial in this, fruit, spice, cloves, red fruit. Badged as a cinnamon ale. I couldn't drink more than 1/4 of a pint.

I was going to a Ratebeer tasting in Queens Park, so whilst I was waiting for the overground at Euston, I thought I would try this pub out again. First one in, decent selection of beer and the Camra discount on a pint even on a Saturday. I need to visit it when it is a bit busier to get a real feel for what it is like. There were more beers on, but like an idiot, I didn't make a full list of them.

Early lunchtime. I had 40 mins before my train to Liverpool and I decided to forego my traditional stop over pub which is the Doric Arch for a new pub. Landlord gave me tasting notes on the beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Old Mill - St George's4.20GoodGold with thick beige head. Slightly citrus light bitter. Very drinkable, decent hops on finish. Bit dusty. But drinkable and fine.
Cottage - Jurassic Bark5.20GoodPart of the Whippet series. Ruby/chestnut with thin beige head. Some butter on aroma, some black grape, some dry toasty malt. Quite a rich premium bitter, good dark rich fruit, burnt toast. Not huge hop on finish, more of a malty fruity beer. Some drying hop on finish. Not really my kind of beer, but lots of very good flavours.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00AcceptableNot at its best, but still a distinctive bitter.
