Visits Details
15 Feb 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Post-shopping visit and rather quiet in here tonight. I seem to have failed to write up a couple of recent visits.
Northern Monk - Faith | 5.10 | | I thought this was really good and stuck with it. A golden beer, probably in the style of a US Pale Ale. Not sharp at all, but smooth and fruity with peach and apricot tastes. |
Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | Not Tried
Tap East - IPA | 6.00 | Not Tried

03 Feb 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening. Wednesday is LP night here and I’m just in time to listen to Wishbone Ash’s classic ‘Argus’ album.
Tap East - IPA | 6.00 | | Still a favourite of mine. |
Vocation - Pride & Joy | 5.30 | | A ‘limited edition’ special version of this beer, single-hopped with Mozaic. Sharply-fruity hop tastes. No wonder there has been a shortage of Mozaic hops – they are all in here. |
Oakham - Bird Brain | 4.10 | | Another deliciously pale and hoppy beer. |
Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried
Tap East - JPB (Jonny Park Bitter) | 4.00 | Not Tried
30 Jan 2016 (ChrisE)

13 Jan 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Early to mid-evening and not too crowded.
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | | A good refresher to start with. |
Wild Beer Co. - Millionaire | 4.70 | | A serious beer to savour slowly. Salted caramel tastes. |

Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried

Just time for a pint before catching a train home, I chatted with a customer at the bar about the Conqueror at Ramsgate.
Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50
Oakham - Inferno | 4.00 | Not Tried
Oakham - Attila | 7.50 | Not Tried

31 Dec 2015 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening visit, the bar well-populated at this time.
Tap East - Tri-State | 5.80 | | A generously-hopped red/brown beer. |
Budvar - B: Dark Cherry | 4.50 | | On keg dispense. My last beer of the year and one I’d been eyeing up over several visits. Very dark brown with a reddish tinge. Very strongly cherry flavoured on a solid malt background. Morello-type cherries. Nice. |
Ghost - Kylo | 4.40 | | An Earl Grey and vanilla flavoured Porter. Black, with a tan head. The expected tastes are there, but I found it dominated by a very bitter finish and a bit lacking in body. |
Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried
Burning Sky - Aurora | 5.60 | Not Tried
Vocation - Pride & Joy | 5.30 | Not Tried
27 Dec 2015 (Stephen Harris)
Late afternoon. There is a frantic frenzy of post-Christmas panic-shopping going on just inches away, but it is relative calm in here. Chance meeting with Dave from Peterborough who passes through briefly.
Oakham - Citra | 4.20 | | Yummy, and rather more balanced that the Brodies Citra I drank yesterday. |
Tap East - IPA | 6.00 | | I’m quite a fan of this beer. |
Titanic - Stout | 4.50 | Not Tried
Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too) | 5.60 | Not Tried
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | Not Tried

18 Dec 2015 (Stephen Harris)
Busy Friday evening session.
London Brewing Co. - Salmiaki Shotgun | 4.90 | | Just the sort of thing the craft beer movement is all about. An experimental collaboration beer with Mad Hatter Brewing. It is described as a Salted Liquorice Stout. Black and thick, salty, caramel-flavours, liquorice and roast barley. |
Tap East - Cherry Porter | 6.00
London Brewing Co. - Extra! Extra! | 4.10 | | Very pleasant, sharp and crisp Pale Ale. |
Vocation - Pride & Joy | 5.30 | | Pale. Bitter, lemon-peel flavours. |

Mid-evening and quite busy for a Monday. Launch tonight of Tap East’s Christmas special beer, a Cherry Porter which can be purchased in a deal including a mince pie.
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | | Lemony/citrus refresher. |
Tap East - Cherry Porter | 6.00 | | Smooth, strong and near-black Porter, heavily flavoured with cherries. The cherry taste is neither overly-sweet, nor is it sour. |

RedWillow - Shameless | 5.90 | Not Tried
Tap East - IPA | 6.00 | Not Tried
