Busy Friday evening session.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Brewing Co. - Salmiaki Shotgun4.90ExceptionalJust the sort of thing the craft beer movement is all about. An experimental collaboration beer with Mad Hatter Brewing. It is described as a Salted Liquorice Stout. Black and thick, salty, caramel-flavours, liquorice and roast barley.
Tap East - Cherry Porter6.00Excellent

BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Tonic Ale3.00ExcellentLemony/citrus refresher.
Tap East - Cherry Porter6.00ExcellentSmooth, strong and near-black Porter, heavily flavoured with cherries. The cherry taste is neither overly-sweet, nor is it sour.

After work on a Monday, and trade starts to quieten down after around 8pm.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Citra4.20ExcellentEvery bit as good as usual.
Tap East - Tri-State5.80GoodStrong, brown, sweetish beer. Malt dominated. In the ESB or Burton Ale or Winter Warmer style.
TicketyBrew - Coffee Anise Porter4.90GoodAn unusual combination of flavours – but I think it does work.

After work, chewing the fat with a friend.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wild Beer Co. - Bibble4.20ExcellentUnfined, golden beer with massive hop hit. Fruity and bitter.
Wild Beer Co. - Millionaire4.70ExcellentA challenging beer. A near black Milk Stout, flavoured with salted caramel. It is lactose-sweet, salty and tastes of nuts and toffee. None of these are tastes that I particularly value in a beer, but the whole thing really works and I like it a lot

Mid-evening, at first in a comfy chair and then standing at the bar with Terry L.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Tonic Ale3.00GoodApparently the hops used in this beer vary from time to time and today I found the hop flavours more vegetal and less citrus than I recall.
Broxbourne - Fallen Angel Black Death5.20AcceptableAn extraordinary beer. Dark in colour. It is massively flavoured with chillie. Burning to the tongue and throat, it literally brought tears to my eyes. Never tasted anything quite like this before.

Excellent beer line-up if you are a friend of the hop. I’m only staying for one and opt for the unfamiliar beer, but would happily have drunk any of the others.
