03 Oct 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Mid to late evening visit and pretty busy.
Tap East - Brown Porter | 4.70 | | I had hoped this would still be around, after reading the recent rave review. And, yes, it is an exceptionally nice Porter. |

01 Oct 2014 (Stephen Harris)
A mid to late evening visit after the shopping crowds have dispersed.
Tap East - Black IPA | 6.00 | | A very big, in-your-face Black IPA. Lots of roasted barley flavours and a heavy hop content. |
Beerd (experimental side of Bath) - Blackbeerd Porter | 4.80 | | A black beer with a creamy head. A very smooth Porter. |
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | Not Tried
Tap East - Brown Porter | 4.70 | Not Tried

17 Sep 2014 (Philip Pirrip)
Last knockings return visit.
Pilot - India Unfined | 6.40 | | Return visit as I had noticed this earlier with its Indian jaggery and toasted fenugreek ingredients. However a murky spice non-beery mix rather than a beer. |

six°north - Belgian Pale Ale | 4.60 | Not Tried
TicketyBrew - Münchner | 4.30 | Not Tried | Ready for sale in the morning |

11 Sep 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening, post shopping trauma visit. The Red IPA is £4 a pint tonight with 50p a pint going to Help for Heroes, in view of the Invicta Games going on nearby. So I’m doing my bit for charity tonight.
Tap East - Ubique Red IPA (in collaboration with Tap East Brewsters) | 6.30 | | A very satisfying, strong beer. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Sequoia | 4.50 | Not Tried
Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too) | 5.60 | Not Tried
TicketyBrew - Pale Ale | 5.30 | Not Tried
Tap East - Weisse (in collaboration with Redemption) | 6.50 | Not Tried
01 Sep 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening visit with a steady throughflow of customers. Many first time visitors end up with the default Grolsch in here, but it’s also good to see plenty of experimentation and the staff are really good at guiding customers to the right beers.
Rooster's - Eight-legged Groovemachine! | 4.50 | | A tasty, full-flavoured ginger beer with added bitterness from lemon zest. |
Tap East - Blonde | 4.30 | | Golden, bitter, crisp. |
Tap East - Blueberry Berliner | 3.50 | | On keg dispense. Unlike Jack William’s son-in-law last week I was not offered mine ‘Mit Schluss?’ – perhaps they had run out. In fact there is plenty of blueberry flavour in there already. Over-carbonated for my tastes and perhaps the blueberry flavours were a little too earthy. |
Oakham - Inferno | 4.00 | Not Tried
Tap East - Saxon Invasion Sour Ale | 4.60 | Not Tried
Tap East - Pomegranate Porter | 4.70 | Not Tried
Tap East - Weisse (in collaboration with Redemption) | 6.50 | Not Tried
28 Aug 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening visit and moderately busy around the time the shopping centre is closing up.
Marble - Howgate & Kemp New Zealand Pale Ale | 6.40 | | Golden and hop-filled. Fruity and bitter. |
Tap East - Summer Ale | 4.60 | | Easy-drinking, pale and bitter. But a bit cloudy and a bit yeasty and clearly no longer in the first flush of youth. |
Siren Craft - 10 Finger Discount | 7.20 | Not Tried
Tap East - Pomegranate Porter | 4.70 | Not Tried
Tap East - Ubique Red IPA (in collaboration with Tap East Brewsters) | 6.30 | Not Tried
Tap East - Weisse (in collaboration with Redemption) | 6.50 | Not Tried
27 Aug 2014 (Jack William)
Lunchtime for a swift one and then a bit of a session with the extended family late afternoon. Wonder if Phillip Pirrip was here at the same time?
Plenty of other beers on - tried a Lemoncello IPA - too lemony and sweet for a beer I feel. And my son-in-law went for a half of Berliner Blueberrry at 3.5 that came with optional blueberry sauce! He moved onto proper beer very quickly afterwards.
Tap East - Summer Ale | 4.60 | | Wonderful bitter hoppiness. |
Tap East - Ubique Red IPA (in collaboration with Tap East Brewsters) | 6.30 | | Rich smoky flavour. Scored by my son. |
Tap East - Belgian Pale Ale (in collaboration with Canterbury Brewers) | 6.00 | | Slightly cloudy as a wheat beer should be - packed a punch. |
