Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Pollards | 5.00 | | A coffee milk stout. Huge coffee aroma then the taste is like cold creamy coffee with a very thick mouthfeel. An interesting and different experience. My score 18/20. |

My first visit here, and I was surprised to find Mr Croxford in here having a pint whilst waiting for a train. The refurbishment of these premises is absolutely marvellous. I returned for a quick half before catching my train home, and noticed that in the two hours that I had been away two more handpumps had been installed on the bar.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling | 5.20 | | Wow, this is good. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Raven | 6.60 | | Described as a black IPA, I am not sure how you can get a black India Pale Ale, but I am not complaining, this is superb. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Light in colour, and a hint of grapefruit. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Saint Petersburg Imperial Russian Stout (now superseded by 7.4% version) | 7.70 | | Impressive, but I think I preferred the Courage product of the 1970's. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Ashford | 4.20 | | A superb brown beer. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Lord Marples | 4.00 | Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Brother Rabbit | 4.00 | Not Tried

We actually went here twice. First on the sunday to try a few beers upon arrival at Sheffield and then the next morning to buy a few bottles from their extensive list before heading home.
The bar sits on platform 1 of Sheffield Station - so it is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes from St Pancras. Well worth a day jolly! Of course the other appeal is that it's the Thornbridge Tap. No less than 8 Thornbridge beers on draught and 6 imported keg lagers (I liked the hoppy Duvel Green). Then behind the bar are a string of cold cabinets with 160 bottled beers from around the world.
This is a retrospective entry and my memory prevents me from recalling all the beers. I'm sure we tried more than 3! Mind you we did go to bottled beers too. Jo made some notes so if I can get them I will add later.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Halcyon | 7.70
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Seaforth | 5.90
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Lord Marples | 4.00 | Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling | 5.20 | Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Ashford | 4.20 | Not Tried

Justifiably popular on a late Saturday afternoon, not a spare seat to be had on arrival although some groups left during my visit.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Exposed | 4.00 | | Stout brewed with strawberry and pink peppercorns. Quite understated with only hints of those flavours coming throught. Makes for a very pleasant full bodied and smooth stout. My score 16/20. |

Well patronised early on a Saturday evening. Plenty of bar staff so good service despite being busy.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Perle | 3.30 | | Pale with plenty of flavour for its strength. Good balance of hop and malt with a long, hoppy finish. My score 15/20. |
