Asked the barman what was on the unmarked cask font to be told it was 'cat's piss'. Wonder why there were only two other customers.

Mid-evening and we were the only customers in the bar. Not usually the spot form a jolly night out.

| Swannay (formerly Highland) - Island Hopping | 3.90 | | No pump clip to show that any real ale was available but a polite enquiry revealed that this hoppy favourite was 'on'. I do wonder why pubs who offer real ale sometimes don't promote them better. |

An Aberdeen stalwart of real ale is now down to serving a single beer through the traditional tall font. The lounge bar is probably the best and most atmospheric music venue in the city with a wide range of of jazz, blues, folk and more modern music. Small, intimate public bar is a great place for a chat.
