Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

The River Ale House, East Greenwich, Greater London

Philip PirripGood16 Nov 2022 I enjoyed this a lot. Well balanced and so not the oft encountered malt dominated Scottish ales

McGargleExcellent16 Dec 2010 Really fresh fruity yeasty aromas lead to smooth mouthfeel and some hopiness which develops in the mouth. Satisfying dry(ish) finish. Pump clip read 4.2% abv.

McGargleAcceptable15 Aug 2013 As I wrote before: I don't really get on well with a number of Highland beers - to me they can be thin, dry and grainy. This was one of them.
McGargleAcceptable09 May 2013 I don't really get on well with a number of Highland beers - to me they can be thin, dry and grainy. This was one of them.
McGargleAcceptable16 Dec 2010 Not quite so fresh here. Through the air font it served without a head. Less balance between malt and hops but flavour richer.

BlairExceptional11 Apr 2009 This is one of the best best bitters I've ever tasted. Fruity with a little hops and malt. Just a pleasure to drink.
