Busy at first with a large group of visitors and regulars. One of the visitors tried to walk off with a guitar and did not get very far. The pub now owns a café a little further up the harbour arm, they will deliver bacon sandwiches to the pub for £2 each.

A bank holiday in Margate and the place was heaving with bikers, there were hundreds, quite possibly thousands of Harley Davidsons, Triumphs and Nortons plus one lonely Vespa parked around the Harbour Arm. The pub has moved next door to its previous premises and is now twice the size that it used to be. (I will upload an up to date picture soon). The queue at the bar averaged ten people but with two serving and one collecting glasses waiting time was minimal. Inside the pub area was a 50-50 mix of motor cyclists and micropub enthusiasts, a very good atmosphere.

Pub has just moved. Next door. Twice the size but still serving quality ales. Mixed clientele most with good humour.

Sunday afternoon, very little room inside so we tried sitting outside, but the sea air was just a little too bracing so we squeezed ourselves back in to the pub.

Afternoon. A good old 68th birthday boy paid for a 90 minute tab on perhaps the last dog day of the Summer. I felt the beers should have been several degrees cooler to match the weather for a more refreshing drink.

Afternoon visit, the pub had suffered a break in the night before and that was the main topic of conversation.

I like this place, it was a hot summer evening and Margate was busy so this was the obvious place for a nice pint, most of the customers sitting outside so plenty of room inside. Nice sea breeze and later on some ad hoc entertainment with pub songs on the piano. A very enjoyable visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day4.30Good
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA4.50AcceptableInteresting, at first we were told that the Skrimshander was not ready, then we were told that it had now come on and were given a taster which was very good. The pints that were served up soon afterwards were very different, hazy and bitter.

The pub is found in Margate, Kent, CT9 1AP.

Micropub initially housed in two former fishermen's workshops and nets / lobster pots store (Units 7 & 8) about two thirds along on the town's stone pier, opened over Whitsun Bank Holiday Weekend 2013. Seating was a mixture of 3 high tables with high stools and some normal height tables and chairs. An attractive high back settle was constructed against one wall. Electric piano usually covered up. Casks of real ale and cider boxes were housed in a cooled room in the corner and visible through a viewing window. Walls were raw brick some of which were painted in a sea green and supporting metal girders are visible. No toilets inside the pub so use the public ones next door. Outside seating allows a picturesque view of the harbour and the sandy beached bay. In May 2015 it moved into the larger neighbouring unit (Unit 9). Most of the former unit's interior fittings and fixtures have moved into the new unit which now houses a larger cool cellar room at the side.

We have visited this pub 69 times, seen 106 different beers and tried 67 of them.
