I like this place, it was a hot summer evening and Margate was busy so this was the obvious place for a nice pint, most of the customers sitting outside so plenty of room inside. Nice sea breeze and later on some ad hoc entertainment with pub songs on the piano. A very enjoyable visit.

Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day4.30Good
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA4.50AcceptableInteresting, at first we were told that the Skrimshander was not ready, then we were told that it had now come on and were given a taster which was very good. The pints that were served up soon afterwards were very different, hazy and bitter.

Evening. A fellow moved a load of gear then played the piano to tunes upon request.

Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day4.30AcceptableHad the right lip bitterness
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA4.50PoorI think this was the one we had a taster of but was oddly flat and not nice, hard work to finish so time to spin

A pleasant day, but not very many people venturing out on to the harbour arm, I sat and chatted with the girl serving the ale.

Evening. A Micropub, a Monday, wet and grim - would it be open or wouldn't it. Such days are the seaside made for. Open and welcoming and warm and only 2 others in then 1.

It has developed into a gloriously sunny, late-summer’s day. Sitting outside this little pub watching the tide retreat from the harbour is briefly idyllic.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Rye Pale Ale4.00ExcellentRye beers tend to be dark. I found this perfectly-conditioned, pale, rye beer a revelation, and superb. Close to five stars.

Evening. Autumnal breezy with delicious ozone and seaweed overtones (in the air not the beer). The welcome light of the open door shone on the pier. This pub will be fantastic on a mid winter stormy night.

The pub is found in Margate, Kent, CT9 1AP.

Micropub initially housed in two former fishermen's workshops and nets / lobster pots store (Units 7 & 8) about two thirds along on the town's stone pier, opened over Whitsun Bank Holiday Weekend 2013. Seating was a mixture of 3 high tables with high stools and some normal height tables and chairs. An attractive high back settle was constructed against one wall. Electric piano usually covered up. Casks of real ale and cider boxes were housed in a cooled room in the corner and visible through a viewing window. Walls were raw brick some of which were painted in a sea green and supporting metal girders are visible. No toilets inside the pub so use the public ones next door. Outside seating allows a picturesque view of the harbour and the sandy beached bay. In May 2015 it moved into the larger neighbouring unit (Unit 9). Most of the former unit's interior fittings and fixtures have moved into the new unit which now houses a larger cool cellar room at the side.

We have visited this pub 70 times, seen 108 different beers and tried 69 of them.
