13 Apr 2011 (Blair)
5th and final stop on our mini crawl of Canterbury. You can generally really on wetherspoons to have at least one interesting beer available, tonight was no exception. Really busy, we managed to nab the last table left. Not bad for a wednesday...
Oakham - Taipan | 4.90 | | Typical Oakham beer, very hoppy and refreshing. One of my favourite brewers, great stuff. |
Kelham Island (probably brewed by Thornbridge now) - Red Molly | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
26 Mar 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Breakfasted with Ian and chatted about JDW festival and local pubs. My impression here was of a well run establishment, some beers on stillage including some Whitstables. Food was of above average quality for a Spoons too. Regrettably a return visit to try more beers that I had left found two of them had gone.
Otter - Hoppy Otter | 3.90 | | A bitter hop flavour dominates with little malt balance and a dry, powdery finish. My score 14/20. |
Robinsons - Ginger Tom | 4.30 | | Barely perceptible ginger flavour, just the usual peppery, dry and malty Robbie's taste. My score 14/20. |
