Fairly quiet around 11.30 on a Saturday morning but soon filled up after that.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Isle - Organic Porter4.20ExcellentDark brown porter with excellent roast and toasted malt character with hints of coffee and chocolate. Good hop character to back all this up. Dry, roast malt finish. My score 16/20.
Tap East - JEB4.20GoodGolden bitter with a good citrus hop character and some fruity sweetness. Crisp, citrus finish. My score 15/20.
Tap East - Stout5.00GoodNot black, more dark brown and slightly lacking body for its strength. Some dry, chocolate malt and a little roast coffee. A little fruit in the finish. My score 15/20.

Early doors on a Saturday lunchtime.Sat in a comfy chair and wondered at the fake yulery outside. The real keg beers were selling well, not that I was tempted.

Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%)3.40ExceptionalI've been looking for beers from this brewery for ages. Deathly pale, crisp, citrus. A good start to a convivial day.

Slap bang opposite Stratford Int station I still managed to miss it but read Chris' review and found it straight away. A welcome oasis from the capitalist shopping culture outside. Chipper staff just a bit cold.

The first brew should be available on 9 November, there was lots of activity in the brew house which can be seen through the glass doors in the bar. Many of our group had not been here before, but I think all of them will be returning soon.

A Monday lunch time visit. The alterations have now been completed, and the brewery kit has been installed. The first brew should be on sale in the pub on 9 November 2011. I met up with a former work colleague and we sampled a couple of pints. The imported beers on tap inclued De Molen Op & Top, Coronado Mermaids Red, Maisel's Weisse, and Oktoberfest beers from Augistiner and Hofbrau.

Saturday evening, and I popped in for a quick one before catching the train home. The range of cask beers on offer was being run down before the pub closes for three days for the installation of the micro-brewery and toilets.

Very easy to find providing you travel by High Speed Rail, this pub is not quite finished yet, but I really like it the way it is. The bar counter is a temporary affair which I think looks O.K. but the new one will allow them to provide a food offering. A micro-brewery is being installed, and should be operational in about two to three weeks time. The toilets should be plumbed in soon, meanwhile plan your drinking accordingly.
