Crowded inside and outside – probably the busiest I have seen this pub so far. 7:30 pm on a Friday onwards
BeerABVScoreNotes
Liverpool Organic - Best Bitter4.20GoodA pale beer with lots of lemony hops. Long bitter hop finish.
Celt Experience (now brands are owned by Evans Evans) - Native Storm4.40AcceptableA brown bitter with a spicy, yeasty taste – I suspect that it had been shaken up or was barrel-end. Should be better than this I think.
Lovibonds - Henley Dark4.80PoorOn keg dispense. I had really enjoyed this toasted dark beer at Cask a while ago. But here it was just cold and very fizzy and largely tasteless. Remind me not to order a keg beer at this pub again.
Oakham - JHB3.80Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Sequoia4.50Not Tried

Bustling with an after-work crowd.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Coffee in the Morning (has been 5.7% too)5.60GoodThe words ‘full-flavoured’ hardly do justice to this black-coloured coffee beer. Bitter, roasted, coffee bean flavours dominate.
Tap East - East End Mild3.50AcceptableThis example a bit past its best. Chocolatey background, but dominated by a bitter taste.
Buxton - Bitter3.80Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Frank as Apollo4.60Not Tried
Tap East - JWB (Jim Wilson Bitter)3.80Not Tried

Celt Experience (now brands are owned by Evans Evans) - Silures4.60ExcellentA golden beer. Very fruity US hop taste, with hints of vanilla and passion fruit.
Tap East - East End Mild3.50GoodDark brown, chocolately and fruity.

Quite busy from 9pm until closing time, many, like us, seeking refreshment here after an evening at one of the Olympic Test Events.

I’ve been shopping and inevitably end up in here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redchurch - Great Eastern India Pale Ale7.40ExcellentA rare chance to drink Redchurch beers from the cask – and Gary the brewer is on hand to make sure we are all happy. It is golden, hazy, strong and intensely hopped.
Redemption - Pale Ale3.80GoodAmber-coloured, malty, session bitter.

A morning visit whilst on my way to St Pancras. I was not sure whether the pub would be open, but they were. I sat and enjoyed a pint in peace and quiet before continuing my journey.

Two visits here, either side of an excellent evening’s cycling at the Olympic Velodrome. Unexpectedly busy up to closing time.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Double Hard Stout4.60ExcellentNot clear if this is a new beer or just a new name, but tasted more robust than the previous two stouts.
Redemption - Big Chief5.50GoodStrong, pale and hoppy, although not in perfect condition.
Tap East - IPA (Cascade)5.00GoodSimply badged as ‘IPA’, but staff confirmed it was the Cascade recipe. Good and hoppy, but more rounded, and consequently better in my view, than last time I tried it.
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40Not Tried
Oakham - Tranquility6.50Not Tried
Redemption - Hopspur4.50Not Tried
