Came in to try the new craft draught range. Only one was available.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur 5.90 Rather too sweet and lacking the hop punch expected. Oakham - JHB 3.80 Flat in condition and flavou. Dominated by strong caramel aroma. Banks's - Devil's Backbone American IPA 5.20 Served far too cold the Banks's yeast shone(?) through. Malted and slightly earthy there wern't enough hops to scare a frog. More work needed. (Keg)

Quiet early evening.
Triple fff - Alton's Pride 3.80 Workmanlike bitter. Deeside - Swift 0.00 Ultimately disappointing pale ale. Shallow malts beefed up late addition of US hops
31 Jul 2014 (McGargle)
Busy but good service.
Milestone - New World Bitter 4.80 Nothing wrong with the serve but this was a dull mid-brown bitter dominated by toffee/caramel. Hops? Gone to the other side.

Sadler's (see also Windsor Castle entry) - JPA 3.80 Underrated single hop (citra) ale. Very pale, very focused and lots of hop bite. 5*?
