Only a couple in, but it was about 3:30 on a mild, grey day in Dover. Superb welcome and had a chat with Keith (the landlord) about what was in store. Goachers Old ready for Monday apparently chaps! There were 5 beers on (sorry forgot the other 2) and a board with the other 5 coming soon. This place is a must for a return visit.

A very wet Wednesday afternoon. I borrowed an umbrella from the pub for the rest of my tour of Dover and returned it on the way back to the Railway Station.

Evening. Usual hug of welcome from the landlady. The 3 Germans from The Mash Tun were here and we joked that the 2 sons spoke High German to each other but Plattdeutsch to their father. The evening ended singing several Simon and Garfunkel songs from The Graduate film - the good or bad effect of alcohol but that is for others to judge.

Just after 5 - good buzz, about a dozen in and the landlady making sure that the language was kept civil. I am impressed by the variety of ales this micro manages to have on.

The pub is found in Dover, Kent, CT17 9AQ.
Street corner Micropub on Worthington Street, located in what was previously Maxwell's Amusements Arcade, which opened on 19th December 2014, a day after full planning permission was granted by Dover District Council - now that is some logistical achievement. Comfortably furnished and carpeted with real ales and ciders served on gravity dispense on 3 level stillage from a temperature controlled cellar room which has a viewing window in the bar. Mix of high tables / stools, settees / low tables plus wall shelves for vertical drinking. Lined glasses in use. 2017 and 2018 local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year. CAMRA East Kent Pub of the Year 2017 and 2018. CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year 2018. CLOSED Sundays. Closed after end of Covid lockdown with future uncertain.
