27 Sep 2012 (Ray)
Nothing of interest on cask so said a quiet word of thanks for the BrewDog tap.
BrewDog - Dead Pony Club (keg) | 3.80 | | BrewDog get a little form with this easy APA. Lots of fruit, booming hops and toned down crystal malt. |
20 Sep 2012 (McGargle)
Back to the hum-drum again. Thankfully, there's always the kegs and bottles to rely on.
Kelburn - Pivo Estivo | 3.90 | | Light colour, harsh grain, limited hopping. Maybe 2* really. |
Arran (formerly Isle of Arran) - Blonde | 5.00 | Not Tried

12 Sep 2012 (McGargle)
Just waiting for Freshers Week.
Cromarty - Hit The Lip | 3.80 | | Light in colour and flavour. Bit thin. Not one of Cromarty's better efforts on this showing. |

06 Sep 2012 (Ray)
Great to see The Moorings continue to offer an interesting selection of ales.
Green Jack - Orange Wheat | 4.20 | | Pleasing, crystal clear orange colour with bright white head. Fruity but smooth. Slightly sweet but bitter on the finish. |
Green Jack - Trawlerboys Best Bitter | 4.60 | | Top quality, traditional Southern English Best Bitter. |
Inveralmond - Moorings Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
Houston - Crystal | 5.00 | Not Tried
16 Aug 2012 (McGargle)
Another Thursday and another good ale selection.
Swannay (formerly Highland) - Pale Ale | 4.70 | | Hoppy and citrussy with that typical Highland yeast twang. |
Fyne - Rune | 3.50 | | A little tired but well balanced and packed with flavour. Solid achievement for 3.5%. Love to try it when fresh. |
Inveralmond - Moorings Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
Isle of Skye - Tarasgeir | 4.00 | Not Tried
09 Aug 2012 (McGargle)
Another top selection.
Cromarty - Red Rocker | 5.00 | | Full on rye based beer. Typical nutty/spicy flavours from the malt and balanced booming hops. |
Fyne - Lismore Red | 5.50 | | Subtle, smooth and a little sweet. Some hop bite but like the Blonde still needs a tweak to focus it. |
Inveralmond - Moorings Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
Isle of Skye - Tarasgeir | 4.00 | Not Tried | Not certain of abv. 4% is bottled figure. |
02 Aug 2012 (McGargle)
IPA Day celebrated in style with an excellent selection. Well done.
Cromarty - Happy Chappy | 4.10 | | Modern pale ale in the West Coast style. Could do with a bit more body and more distinctive hop profile. |
Fyne - Lismore Blonde | 5.50 | | This has the potential, with a bit of tweaking, to be another Fyne winner. At the moment slightly sweet from the malts without a hop attack to cut through it. |
Inveralmond - Moorings Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
BrewDog - 5AM Saint (keg) | 5.00 | Not Tried
BrewDog - Punk IPA (keg) | 5.40 | Not Tried
Burnside - Mad Dogz | 3.80 | Not Tried
