Sunday xmas shopping - not as hellish as I was expecting, the town wasn't as busy as I feared. But here, during the eating hours (12 - 6) the place cannot always accomodate the potential custom. Shame really as the staff were working really hard to satisfy as many as possible.

Just about got a seat by the door at about 14:00. The place was more or less full with most people eating. The persistent drizzle forcing people inside.

Late afternoon, still a few people eating, but plenty of room. Great bar staff, best in town.

Early on a busy wintry Saturday lunchtime. We sat upstairs and enjoyed a remarkably good pork pie, amongst other things.The pub rapidly filled up with a matureish crowd:the barmaid said it gets younger as the evening progresses. I confess to being old enough to remember when the adjacent building housed "Quine's Diner".

Saturday early afternoon and I sat at the bar chatting about beer with Tom and John the brewers. Good pub.

The pub is found in Canterbury, Kent, CT1 2NR.
Brewery tap for Canterbury Brewers. The brewery is inside the building and may be viewed through an internal window. Upstairs and ground floor bars with the latter always open. 7 handpumps sported in each of the 2 bars. Substantial discount on real ales for Card carrying CAMRA members - at April 2013 this was 10% on own brewed beer - ask if there is a discount on food too as this is allegedly 10% too. Consists of two bar areas - one downstairs adjacent to the brewery and another up some steps to a mezzanine level. Originally located in White Horse Lane near the Cherry Tree pub. In addition to its excellent home brewed ales the pub is getting a reputation for tasty and good value food. Moved in October 2018 to a new location in Stour Street "lock stock and barrel".
