Met some great people here. Sim popped in from Ratebeer and met the brewer from Brewsters who was on his way back to Grantham. Good visit
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Tranquility6.50AcceptableNot my favourite Oakham beer. Yes the intense tangerine is good but I find it sticky and a bit syrupy
Anglo-Dutch - Old Staff4.20AcceptableGood flavours just not in best of condition. Good character though
Anglo-Dutch - Kletswater4.00Not Tried
02 Nov 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
Day 2 of a West Country beer festival with beers stillaged on the terrace.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Coastal - Handliner4.00GoodGood hop character to this amber bitter. Full flavoured with a dry hoppy finish. My score 15/20.
Jollyboat - Freebooter4.00AcceptableABV shown as 4.8%. A darkish strong bitter with hoppy bitterness and some tart dried fruit in the finish. My score 14/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Amarillo4.20ExcellentVery pale and hoppy with lots of citrus flavours and a tart finish. My score 16/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Ascot - Harvest Ale4.40AcceptableDry, bitter and hoppy amber ale that is not really to my taste. My score 13/20.
21 Sep 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Akenhatan4.90ExcellentVery pale and very hoppy, full of fruity citrus hop flavours. Good malt character keeps the bitterness at bay to give a very pleasant beer. My score 17/20.
14 Aug 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
Very busy with market visitors on a Saturday afternoon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Citra4.20ExcellentSuperb very pale ale bursting with pungent hop aromas. The taste is full of fruity citrus hoppiness with good malt balance. The best example of this hop in a single hop beer that I have sampled. My score 17/20.
24 Jul 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Salopian - Blackwater Reggae4.30GoodHoppy dark amber beer with a crisp citrus hop flavour. My score 15/20.
29 Jun 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hardknott - Dark Energy4.90GoodDark brown porter style beer with a fair bit of bitterness but a full bodied malty taste as well. My score 15/20.
05 Jun 2010 (Martin the Mildman)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burton Bridge - Walker's Way4.50AcceptableUsual flavours from a Burton Bridge seasonal, peppery hop and dry malt to give a bitter beer without much depth of flavour. My score 14/20.

The pub is found in Southwark, Central London, SE1 9AG.

Small pub on the north side of Borough Market run by the same people who own the Utobeer bottled beer stall in the market itself. The bar has 3 hand pulls serving UK cask beers and 6 taps supplying continental and world beers. An extensive bottle beer selection is also available from the fridges behind the bar. The bar has stripped wood floors, pale beige walls and a historic Pilkington glass ceiling. A decked patio provides extra space and seating. Definitely an excellent addition to the Southwark beer scene.

We have visited this pub 151 times, seen 348 different beers and tried 249 of them.
