Day two in the Cowshed and still a fair crowd in and plenty of familiar faces. Quite a few ales sold out but the Foreign beer was excellant with an Echte Kriek on draught tried. And I took away three large De Moelen bottles to savour at home! This b/f is a personal favourite and I always enjoy coming here. Recommended.

Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Organic Ale | 4.50 | | A decent seasonal ale. |
Nelson - Master Mate Mild | 3.70 | | A top mild. |
Swan on the Green - Fuggles Pale Ale | 3.60 | | Rarely see these ales outside there native home. |

The beer normally runs out fairly early on, but I didn't leave until 19.00, having said that, I was mostly drinking the bottles from the foreign stand. De Molen Lente Hop and Rasputin were fantastic.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Utterly brilliant, still great condition and lovely flavours. |
Otley - OG | 5.40 | | Some sweetness on aroma. Sweetish strawberry syrup in mouth and some earthyness on finish. Pretty good sweetish fruit. I ended up liking it. |
Wantsum - Dynamo (superseded by 4.3% version) | 4.60 | | One of the better Wantsum beers, some lemon and lime citrus and kiwi fruit. Drinkable. Light on aroma but very good finish. |
Lymestone - Stone the Crows | 5.40 | | Oddly fruity dark beer, like Andrew I thought this was more a mild than anything else, but certainly enjoyable. |

What a great day. Met up with Adrian and his pals at Canterbury and walked up. Met Ian in the queue and then Chris (Whinger) inside. Quite a lot of the beers had gone but there were still enough left of interest. I even managed to have some bottles from the foreign beer stands. ...and I bought a Goachers Dark pump clip. How's it get any better than that?
West Berkshire - Good Old (or Ordinary) Boy | 4.00 | | Superb beer. Fruity brown bitter with great depth. |
Lymestone - Stone the Crows | 5.40 | | Down as a stout but much more like a mild to my mind. Tangy with some heat and a low hoping. Very good indeed. |
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | | The last half out of the barrel and it was still good. Roasted with a hint of red fruit. |
West Berkshire - Doctor Hexter's Healer | 5.00 | | Light brown, toasted malt with a big mouth feel. |
Wantsum - Dynamo (superseded by 4.3% version) | 4.60 | | Light golden beer. Sharp watery and a bit 1 dimensional ...but I still liked it. |
Otley - O1 Original | 4.00 | | Weird one. Quite yeasty with lemon, bread dough and melon. |
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | | Didn't have any of the orange flavours it usually does. Probably a bit tired. |
Ascot - Final Furlong (formerly Posh Pooch) | 4.20 | | Light brown bitter. Some reeds and bitterness. |

Now a well established date in my diary, and a small landmark for yours truly as, have been visiting here since 2000 and this is where I joined Camra, then went on to become, what I now know to be called a "ticker"? This is the place where the road to beer paradise started....
Humpty Dumpty - Little Sharpie | 3.80 | | Ale of the day. |
Whitstable - Renaissance Ruby Mild | 3.80 | | Top class mild. |
Lymestone - Stone the Crows | 5.40 | | Another ale of the day and one of the few dark ales here today. |
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | Very nice. |
Saltaire - Raspberry Blonde | 4.00
Summer Wine (SWB) - Elbow Grease | 3.80
Whitstable - Faversham Creek | 3.80 | | Very good. |
Wentworth - Summa Luvin | 4.60
Royal Tunbridge Wells - Sovereign Blonde | 3.80 | | Another new ale. Good condition. |
Blue Monkey - Evolution Gold | 4.30 | | Nice condition. |

My birthday!!!! Really great evening with lots of beery types, including Martin, Martyn+Glyn+KB+Mick all from the Butcher's Arms, Chris Excell, Roger Marples some work colleagues and just generally good fun. Menno from De Molen brewery was there too with some of his beers, so I have to admit I did get a bottle of the Moud and Mocha 2 which was the best thing I had all night except the Girardin gueuze also in bottle.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | | Stupidly deliciously easy drinking IPA. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Amazing for a 3.5% beer. And the condition. Wow |
Saltaire - Raspberry Blonde | 4.00 | | Lovely aroma of fresh raspberry doesn't continue into the flavour where the fruit and the golden ale do battle for sweetness and dryness at the same time. |
Oakham - White Dwarf | 4.30 | | Not as my memory thought. |
