| Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acorn - White Oak | 4.80 | ![]() | A pale and slightly hazy beer. Pronounced hop flavours from Crystal hops. Tastes and looks like there might be some wheat in the recipe. |

| Red Fox - Black Fox Porter | 4.80 | ![]() | Decent, near-black porter with chocolaty tastes. |
| Black Hole - BHB | 3.80 | ![]() | Marked here as ‘Bitter 4.1%’, but I think it was the regular BHB. Golden in colour, with dry-ish hops. |

| Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tap East - 3 Shades of Black - Original | 6.40 | ![]() | Rich-tasting black porter, without the sourness evident in some versions of this beer. |
| Crate - Stout | 5.70 | ![]() | Dark brown, fruity stout with plenty of coffee and chocolate tastes and a little roast malt. Let down a bit here by flat condition. |
| London Brewing Co. - Skyline | 5.00 | ![]() | Golden coloured and bursting with US hops – no doubt would have been even better if not in such flat condition from the stillage. |

| Wood Street - Golden Larch | 4.50 | ![]() | Woodstreet is the newly-launched brewery at the Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield. Unfortunately this beer had a heavy TCP-type taste, obscuring what promised to be a hoppy, amber bitter. |

The pub is found in Walthamstow, Greater London, E17 4JF.
Fondly known as the “Shack at the Back”, this is a members' club tucked away next to Walthamstow Town Hall and behind the Assembly Rooms. CAMRA members are also admitted, and guests may be signed in. Many events are held, including a couple of beer festivals each year. Permanently closed April 2016 after the local Council re-possessed the building at lease expiry.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 58 different beers and tried 17 of them.
