Sadly, got there 45 minutes too early for their Saturday 3pm opening as almost opposite the Tankerton Arms, and so carried on to Whitstable itself which was also on my itinerary.

Late afternoon and busy so we opted for the covered rear patio area. Friendly and welcoming as always with a cosy relaxed atmosphere.

I was expecting a junk shop with a small bar and a couple of tables. Wrong!! This was entirely a bar with ample seating with a shed at the rear of the garden if one wished to browse 'antiques'. The enthusiastic bar lady took time to welcome us and accurately describe the beers avaialble.

First time here having, until today, never heard of it. A single roomed establishment that had the feel of a wine bar - but with 4 real ale taps.
