Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Hogan SamplingGood25 Jan 2025 Good head and lacing on being presented with it and after a few decants later on, it was restored. Not overly sweet and not as good as on previous visit the evening before. The odd malty flavouring in it and a bitter finish on this Tottenham mild made with the help of The Kernel in Bermondsey.
Hogan SamplingExcellent24 Jan 2025 I was warned off this on my previous visit by a fellow punter but had a taster out of curiosity then and did not dislike. This time around I was ready to try a half. This Tottenham mild was very potent at 6% and made jointly with Bermondsey-based The Kernel Brewery. The first hit was actually very dry and whereas I described it from my earlier visit as strange. Certainly lightly fruity and enjoyed the chocolate, coffee and sweet sherry flavours, as in the tasting notes, immensely. Could easily have done another half or more as very moreish but also full of Tonbridge's Old Chestnut.
Philip PirripGood23 Jan 2025 Would have liked more natural carbonation to carry this off
Hogan SamplingGood23 Jan 2025 Just went for a taster as was otherwise sticking to the bitter. Some head and lacing on this Tottenham-based mild made jointly with Bermondsey-based The Kernel Brewery. A strange first hit and not overly sweet despite chocolate, coffee and sweet sherry flavourings lingering.

Philip PirripExcellent25 May 2018 Full bodied, the Kernel contribution no doubt important

Stephen HarrisAcceptable08 Feb 2018 Dark brown in colour. I don’t enjoy this as much as I was expecting – possibly because it comes immediately after a couple of very hoppy beers.
