IanExcellent17 Feb 2009 I missed this at the beer festival last year, so pleased to see it. Very deep mahogany, lasting thin beige, lovely choccy strong ale, lots of dry malt. Lots of malty fruity flavour. Tasty as hell, just a little syrupy. Alcohol is well contained in the big malts. Excellent. Dryish finish.

The County Hotel, Ashford, Kent

IanExcellent27 Mar 2007 I love this beer. Deep, huge and full of alcohol. Great.
IanExcellent13 Mar 2007 Very deep ruby colour with lasting tight beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, damson and dark plum, but not sour. Some choc. Smooth juicy fruity in mouth. More dark fruit juice. Fruit skin aroma is very good. Noticeable dose of hop on finish. Some more smooth choc on finish. Little bit of grainyness. A rather stunning pint. Alcohol hardly makes a presence until you try to stand up and your legs have gone. Excellent

The White Horse, Parsons Green, Greater London

IanGood27 Jan 2007 Very deep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Subtle dark malt aroma. Burnt toast. Good dark strong beer, good mouthfeel. Not great, but extremely competent. Bit of creamy vanilla too.
