Ah the New Inn. Arrived at 6:15 to see Ian at the bar ordering. It was fairly busy but eventually we got our favoured seat in the back. Martin arrived a bit later and we all had a great time.

Came to see Ian and Martin for our annual pre-Christmas drink. The pub was heaving so we ended up sitting in the garden, which wasn't too cold.

Tuesday evening, a bit of a chat with a couple of regulars - the only customers in early. Enjoyed a few classic songs on the free jukebox.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - War Horse4.00GoodVery acceptable retro brown ale.

Early Sunday evening. A genial atmosphere. Excellent choice of ales as usual - the only fly in the ointment here is the one, experienced, bartender who seems incapable of pulling a full pint and makes a fuss when asked for a top up.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)4.70ExcellentCouldn’t fault this (after I’d asked for a top up on the short pint). Superb flavour and condition.
Anarchy - Midnight Metro4.00AcceptableUnlined and very cloudy pale ale. Lacked the body usually found in unfined ales but I did get a bit of an orange flavour. Didn’t really enjoy it.

Came to meet friends. Five of us in the end. The pub was fairly busy with the Beatles and Queen playing on the stereo.

Early afternoon and busy with a few at the bar and group of ale drinkers enjoying the variety and quality of ales on offer as one expects here.

Mid evening. Unusually quiet in here tonight. Just 3 of us in the bar. Good ales, daft conversation. A Ruby Mild on also - not sure whose.

Early Friday evening. A good smattering of people in all areas and plenty of comings and goings as I supped and chatted. This is an outstanding Canterbury pub, good variety of ales on at an average of £4 a pint.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Stan the Man4.20ExcellentFirst time I’d come across this beer from Gadd’s. Full of flavour and great body.
Kent - Prohibition4.80GoodJust wasn’t as tasty as the Gadd’s, but a lovely pint nonetheless.
