I arrived soon after the evening opening and the pub was already busy. I invested in a sweepstake ticket for Saturday's Grand National horse race.

First night of Eddie Gadd taking over. Memorable evening sat at the bar talking about life beer and cricket.

Just time for a quick one before afternoon closing, there was a good number of customers at the bar, and I chatted with someone about life behind Post Counters in the 1960s and 1970s, and the strike that lasted for 47 days from 20 January to 8 March 1971

The pub is found in Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 7HJ.
A small L-shaped pub with a good locals' feel. Found up a side road, Trinity Place, not far from the centre of town. A lease taken by Eddie Gadd of Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') in Summer 2014 from the private owner and he took over occupancy in September of that year. Local CAMRA branch Traditional Pub of the Year 2019 and 2020. Freehold purchased by Ramsgate Brewery in mid 2025.
We have visited this pub 192 times, seen 156 different beers and tried 125 of them.
