Mid to late-evening visit. Plenty of the usual Thursday crowd here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Made North3.80ExcellentDry, golden bitter in the Manchester style. Well-crafted and well-balanced, as you would expect from Thornbridge.
Tap East - JPB (Jonny Park Bitter)4.00GoodNew Session Bitter, named after the current brewer, which I expect will replace JWB, which is named after a former brewer (Jim Wilson – now of Peoples Park Tavern).

As of today I am £8 a month richer, having re-negotiated my telephone contract. I thought I would spend February’s £8 in here (and some more).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Liverpool Craft - Love Lane Pale4.50ExcellentPale gold in colour, with fruity hops and a bitter finish.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Cocoa Wonderland6.80ExcellentA strong, dark red/brown porter with a massive chocolate hit.
Liverpool Craft - American Red Ale5.00AcceptableThis didn’t really work for me. Seemed to lack both hops and body.

I’m shoving off to foreign parts on holiday for a couple of weeks. Places that have almost certainly never heard of hops; so I need to bulk up my hop levels before departure, starting here, and they have just the beer for it.

A lunchtime meet-up here with a friend from Peterborough who is keen to catch up with some of the beers from the new wave of east London brewers. I have a whirlwind pub-crawl in mind.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Tonic Ale3.00GoodFirst time I have drunk this for a while, and today it seemed just a little harsh and un-balanced.

Good to be back on terra cognita in east London for an after-work drink.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Beerkeepers5.30GoodNot sure if this is the same beer that I drank in March, but it has the same name and strength. Not obviously wheaty, still quite fruity, obvious honey content.
WharfeBank - Treacle Toffee Stout4.40AcceptableA very sweet Milk Stout with a thick caramel / treacle taste. Far too sweet for me. I guess there were clues in the beer’s name.

Lunch time, the shopping centre was very busy but the pub was surprisingly quiet which gave me a good chance to chat with the bar staff. Mr Pirrip made one of his rare daylight appearances.
