Evening latish. Amazed to see so many people walk by, what with cycling is London becoming healthy? On the down side it is so sad to see the great majority of beer sold here is fizz with the subsequent and inevitable wailing of grieving wallets. Great pity that they have removed the TV screens listing the beers as the overhead strip light directly above the bar counter is so bright and direct that it diminishes the chalk board contrast unless one stands well back.
Acorn - Gorlovka | 6.00 | | They do keep their beers here so very well despite a same level complicated storage system at the back of premises next store |
Vocation - Bread & Butter | 3.90 | | Superb balance and subtlety |
Oakham - Bishops Farewell | 4.60 | Not Tried
Redemption - Urban Dusk | 4.60 | Not Tried
Redemption - Big Chief | 5.50 | Not Tried
Helmsley - Howardian Gold | 4.20 | Not Tried | Ran out |

Mid-evening. There have been a couple of little changes in here – most significantly the removal of the TV screens showing beer availability and their replacement by old fashioned blackboards.
Kent - Black Gold | 4.00 | | Dark red/brown with a big rocky head. A malty, dark Bitter. |
North Riding Brewpub - Waimea | 4.30 | | Pale and hoppy. |
Alechemy - Bad Day at The Office Pale Ale | 4.50 | | After the 11 hour shift I’ve just put in this seemed an appropriately-named beer. Deep gold in colour. Malty, some hop spiciness. |
Hardknott - Continuum | 4.00 | Not Tried
Allendale - END 41 Fermata | 3.10 | Not Tried
22 May 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Quick pint on return from a nice day out in Hampshire. Any thoughts that early Sunday evening might be a quiet time here are soon dispelled.
Blackjack - Duel Hop Combat Pale Ale Newport Vs. Pacifica | 4.50 | | A golden, heavily-hopped Pale Ale. Very bitter. |
Marble - Bitter | 3.90 | Not Tried
Moor - Raw | 4.30 | Not Tried
Portobello - Market Porter | 4.60 | Not Tried
Squawk - Pale Ale | 4.30 | Not Tried

Busy when I first arrived after work, but had quietened down by about 8pm.
New Bristol - Supernatural Double IPA | 7.50 | | Amber-coloured. A tasty, strong IPA. |

Crowded.
Track - Zaka | 3.80 | | Golden, with a slight haze. A wonderfully fresh and fruity APA. |
Good Chemistry - Jimmy Porter | 3.20 | | Un-definable. like a sort of low-strength Port Stout. Full-flavoured, but a bit too thin. |
Bristol Beer Factory - Southville Hop | 6.50 | Not Tried
Redemption - Trinity | 3.00 | Not Tried
Blackjack - Light Mild | 3.80 | Not Tried
19 Apr 2016 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening, First visit here and found it very busy. Can anyone explain to me why Siren Craft's Broken Dream here is £4.50pp cask and £5.80pp fizz, staff behind the bar could not??
Arbor Ales - Shangri-la | 4.20
Siren Craft - Broken Dream Breakfast Stout | 6.50
Redemption - Trinity | 3.00 | Not Tried
Kirkstall - Black Band Porter | 5.50 | Not Tried
Kirkstall - Dissolution IPA | 5.00 | Not Tried
Five Points - Five Points Pale | 4.40 | Not Tried
05 Apr 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Busy in here after work – I suppose it always will be. I decided to give free rein to my inner-German tonight. Unfortunately I have not kept details of other beers that were available.
Hellhound - Black Shuck | 3.90 | | An intensely dry, roasty, black Porter. |
Mahr's Bräu - Weisse | 5.20 | | On keg dispense. Cloudy pale-gold in colour. Has all the German Wheat Beer qualities in spades. Bags of spicy yeast, bananary ester, slightly lemony. Yum Yum. |
Licher - Klosterbrauerei Ettal Benediktiner Weissebier | 5.40 | | On keg dispense. No longer independent, Ettal’s beers are brewed at Bitburger-owned Licher. A hazy-amber colour. Tastes like a German wheat-beer, but not remarkably so. A middle-of-the-road, mainstream version I thought. |
21 Mar 2016 (Stephen Harris)
A quick pint after work. The pub is barely less crowded than it was on opening night. Furniture has been rearranged and looks better with tables perpendicular to, rather than parallel to, the bar. I no longer have the details of other beers available on this day.
Five Points - Five Points Pale | 4.40 | | A great Pale Ale on stunningly good form here. |
18 Mar 2016 (Stephen Harris)
This pub has been trailed for many months and finally opened at 5pm this-afternoon. I was here by 6, by which time it was already jam-packed. Destined, I feel, to be a very busy pub.
Kirkstall - Black Band Porter | 5.50 | | A brilliant, strong, flavoursome Porter that also has a classy hop presence. |
Redemption - Trinity | 3.00 | Not Tried
Redemption - Fellowship Porter | 5.10 | Not Tried
Kirkstall - Dissolution IPA | 5.00 | Not Tried
Five Points - Railway Porter | 4.80 | Not Tried
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Gipsy Hill - Southpaw | 4.20 | Not Tried
