Visits Details
02 Sep 2014 (Stephen Harris)
A novel experience for me, watching Leyton Orient on live TV (I think that on every other occasion they have featured in a live broadcast I have been in the stadium). There is a good gathering of locals and club members here and the three firkins at £2:50 a pint are just about enough for the evening.
Ilkley - Mary Jane | 3.50 | | In my opinion this is a very good example of a full-flavoured but balanced Pale Ale. |
Orkney (Sinclair) - Northern Light | 4.00 | | Nice pale beer that suffered slightly from being alongside such a good beer in a similar style. |
Stonehenge - Pigswill | 4.00 | Not Tried
26 Apr 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Visits both before and immediately after today’s match. Two new handpumps have been added to the bar, occupying the space where a couple of gravity-dispensed beers used to be perched. I stuck with the Mighty Oak selection.
Mighty Oak - Three Kings | 4.20 | | The name of this beer has been abbreviated to ‘Kings’. Very tasty, Citra-hopped, golden beer. |

Mighty Oak - Flight Inn | 4.10

12 Apr 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Post-match visit and there is a happy mood in here after a big win for the O’s. I list only those beers I drank.
Dunscar (formerly Dunscar Bridge) - Bombay IPA | 3.70 | | Any suspicions that this might be a Greene King-style ‘IPA’ at 3.7% were soon dispelled. Golden and tasty and hoppy. |
Indian Summer - Hop & Soul Amber | 3.80 | | Not bad at all. |
Black Paw - Bishop's Best | 3.80 | | Not really to my liking. A rather lifeless, tangy Crystal malt-type beer. |
20 Feb 2014 (Stephen Harris)

Cornish Chough - Fire Raven | 4.70 | | Great Porter, selling very fast. |
Brighton Bier - South Coast IPA | 5.00 | | Another big and strongly-flavoured IPA. |

21 Dec 2013 (Stephen Harris)
The O’s lost today, but it is still packed in here after the match and nobody much cares about the result – the party is pretty much to celebrate what has perhaps been the most successful calendar year in the football club’s history. Judging this-evening too of the now annual Christmas jumper competition – won for the second year by ‘Chappo’ from Ilford. Just a partial list of the beers that went through.
Art Brew - Baby Anarchist | 3.20 | | All I scribbled down was the word ‘Yum’. |
Marble - Ginger 5.1 | 5.10 | | Very tasty. |
Worsthorne - Blackthorne Stout | 4.90 | | Really good stout; shame it ran out so quickly. |

19 Dec 2013 (Stephen Harris)
The immensely popular, annual, Mighty Oak night has fallen a little early in the calendar this year. Doors open at 5 and apparently every table is fully occupied by a quarter past. The first firkins are starting to empty by about 9 and by 10pm we are drinking our way into beers intended for Saturday matchday drinking.
Mighty Oak - Wiseman's Gold | 4.80 | | Golden, hoppy, dryish beer. |
Mighty Oak - Rockin' Reindeer | 4.40 | | Dark brown, roasty, fruity, chocolaty porter. |
Mighty Oak - Melting Moments | 3.90 | | Copper-coloured beer with biscuit malt and plenty of Amarillo hop character. |
Mighty Oak - Ice Maiden | 3.60 | | Golden, full-bodied and full-flavoured. Excellent for its strength. |
Mighty Oak - Yule Love Her | 4.10 | | Ruby-coloured, fruity and spicy. |

Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70
Wild Card - Jack of Clubs | 4.50 | | This dark beer seems to be getting fruitier and fruitier. |

Brains - Merlin's Oak | 4.30 | Not Tried
12 Oct 2013 (Stephen Harris)
The Club was busy today, both before and after the match, which has drawn a large attendance. Plenty of beers were coming through the pumps and I doubt that I managed to note them all.
Tiny Rebel - Beat Box | 4.50 | | A golden coloured beer, heavily-hopped with US hop varieties. |
Arkwright's - Partners in Crime | 3.80 | | A pretty decent, well-balanced, session-type bitter. |
Bank Top - Double Leg | 4.40 | | I remember that I enjoyed this one, but seem not to have noted any detail. |
Great Orme - Ynys Mon | 4.60 | | Sweetish, caramelly, malt-driven pint of a kind of which I am not really a great fan. |
Bedlam - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Unusually for this bar, this beer was not in the best of condition. It came across as a predominately malt-based bitter - probably better than 'acceptable', but hard to tell with this pint. |

Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried
Slater's - Premium | 4.40 | Not Tried
