25 Sep 2014 (Stephen Harris)
A special opening for a Meet The Brewer night with Brighton Bier, and also for the presentation of the latest round of CAMRA Club of the Year awards. Well-supported by members.
| Brighton Bier - Dealer’s Choice #1 (abv may vary) | 5.50 | | A very luscious Black IPA featuring Simcoe and Mosaic hops. |
| Brighton Bier - Dealer’s Choice #2 | 5.50 | | A very bitter, golden IPA, with Columbus and HBC366 hops. |
| Brighton Bier - Coffee Racer | 6.00 | | An experimental beer brewed on Brighton Bier’s pilot brewery. A rich stout with plenty of coffee without being over the top. |
| Brighton Bier - (Under the) Table Bier | 7.00 | | A golden, hazy, warming and ever so slightly sweet, Belgian-style strong Pale Ale. |
| Brighton Bier - Fall Guy | 4.50 | | A reddish bitter. Brewed at Greene King’s brewery, and you can tell. Distinctive flavour from the GK yeast. |
| Brighton Bier - West Pier | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Brighton Bier - South Coast IPA | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Brighton Bier - Underdog | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Brighton Bier - Thirty Three Pale Ale | 3.30 | Not Tried | |

I’m unusually early here tonight and am able to bag our “lucky table” before any of my friends arrive. There is a low crowd expectation for tonight’s League Cup match and it never becomes over-busy in here before the game.
| Mighty Oak - Maldon Gold | 3.80 | | Ever tasty, ever popular. |
| Hackney - American Pale Ale | 4.50 | | Full-bodied US Pale. |
| Mighty Oak - Trail Ale | 4.30 | | Oddly, I find this rather bland and flat, whilst my friends are raving about it. I think I might have had the first one out or something. |
| Black Country - BFG Bradley's Finest Golden | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Captain Bob | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Harbour - IPA | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Colchester - Pontisbright | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
02 Sep 2014 (Stephen Harris)
A novel experience for me, watching Leyton Orient on live TV (I think that on every other occasion they have featured in a live broadcast I have been in the stadium). There is a good gathering of locals and club members here and the three firkins at £2:50 a pint are just about enough for the evening.
| Ilkley - Mary Jane | 3.50 | | In my opinion this is a very good example of a full-flavoured but balanced Pale Ale. |
| Orkney (Sinclair) - Northern Light | 4.00 | | Nice pale beer that suffered slightly from being alongside such a good beer in a similar style. |
| Stonehenge - Pigswill | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
26 Apr 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Visits both before and immediately after today’s match. Two new handpumps have been added to the bar, occupying the space where a couple of gravity-dispensed beers used to be perched. I stuck with the Mighty Oak selection.
| Mighty Oak - Three Kings | 4.20 | | The name of this beer has been abbreviated to ‘Kings’. Very tasty, Citra-hopped, golden beer. |
| Mighty Oak - Eggstatic | 3.70 | | Pale, crisp, fresh and hoppy. |
| Mighty Oak - Tit For Tat | 4.00 | | |
| Mighty Oak - Flight Inn | 4.10 | | |
| Bath Ales - Gem Bitter | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Maldon Gold | 3.80 | Not Tried | Ran out very quickly. |

| Marble - Ginger 5.1 | 5.10 | Not Tried | |
12 Apr 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Post-match visit and there is a happy mood in here after a big win for the O’s. I list only those beers I drank.
| Dunscar (formerly Dunscar Bridge) - Bombay IPA | 3.70 | | Any suspicions that this might be a Greene King-style ‘IPA’ at 3.7% were soon dispelled. Golden and tasty and hoppy. |
| Indian Summer - Hop & Soul Amber | 3.80 | | Not bad at all. |
| Black Paw - Bishop's Best | 3.80 | | Not really to my liking. A rather lifeless, tangy Crystal malt-type beer. |
20 Feb 2014 (Stephen Harris)

| Black Flag - White Cross IPA | 5.70 | | A strong and fruity IPA with hops from far and wide. |
| Banks & Taylor's (B&T) - Plum Mild | 3.80 | | Enjoyable fruit beer with prominent plum tastes. |
| Rebel - Bullhorn Black Lager | 4.90 | | Very nice. |
| Padstow - Padstow Pilot | 4.00 | | Decent, regular bitter. |
| Cornish Crown - St Michaels Bitter | 4.00 | | Tasted a bit ordinary alongside so many characterful beers. |

Post-match visit only . Long faces all around as the team had just put in their worst performance of the season so far. A focus on Bristol and Gloucester area beers tonight to welcome our guests from Bristol City.
| Hop Stuff - Pale Ale | 4.50 | | A rather superior pale ale. |
| Lymm - Bridgewater Bitter | 4.30 | | Middle of the road sort of pale ale. |

The O’s lost today, but it is still packed in here after the match and nobody much cares about the result – the party is pretty much to celebrate what has perhaps been the most successful calendar year in the football club’s history. Judging this-evening too of the now annual Christmas jumper competition – won for the second year by ‘Chappo’ from Ilford. Just a partial list of the beers that went through.
| Art Brew - Baby Anarchist | 3.20 | | All I scribbled down was the word ‘Yum’. |
| Marble - Ginger 5.1 | 5.10 | | Very tasty. |
| Worsthorne - Blackthorne Stout | 4.90 | | Really good stout; shame it ran out so quickly. |
| Rudgate - Rudolph's Ruin | 4.60 | | Brown, thick and overly-spicy. |
| Cairngorm - Trade Winds | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried | As ever, on gravity dispense here. |
| Slater's - Top Totty | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Colchester - Red Diesel | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
19 Dec 2013 (Stephen Harris)
The immensely popular, annual, Mighty Oak night has fallen a little early in the calendar this year. Doors open at 5 and apparently every table is fully occupied by a quarter past. The first firkins are starting to empty by about 9 and by 10pm we are drinking our way into beers intended for Saturday matchday drinking.
| Mighty Oak - Wiseman's Gold | 4.80 | | Golden, hoppy, dryish beer. |
| Mighty Oak - Rockin' Reindeer | 4.40 | | Dark brown, roasty, fruity, chocolaty porter. |
| Mighty Oak - Melting Moments | 3.90 | | Copper-coloured beer with biscuit malt and plenty of Amarillo hop character. |
| Mighty Oak - Ice Maiden | 3.60 | | Golden, full-bodied and full-flavoured. Excellent for its strength. |
| Mighty Oak - Yule Love Her | 4.10 | | Ruby-coloured, fruity and spicy. |
| Mighty Oak - Cwismas Quacker | 4.00 | | Full-bodied, best bitter. |
| Mighty Oak - Santa's Little Yelpers | 3.70 | | Trad, brown bitter. |
| Mighty Oak - Maldon Gold | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Yellow Snow | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
