Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Philip PirripAcceptable09 May 2017 Rather acidic and metallic. No Robinsons snatch nor hop nose. Drank up quickly and moved on.
Philip PirripPoor03 Feb 2014 Warmish and unappealing. Quiet Monday night's slow sales not helping perhaps
Philip PirripAcceptable22 Jul 2013 Too warm
Philip PirripExcellent22 Nov 2012 Really bitter mouthfeel and on the lips
Philip PirripExcellent19 Oct 2012
Philip PirripGood18 Jul 2012 Right nose but have had much better. Became sourer as pint went down in the glass
Philip PirripGood10 Jun 2012 Funny old thing is real ale not matching the 5 star performance of my last visit here
Philip PirripExceptional18 May 2012 I have to mark this with the highest accolade of 5 stars. Right temperature, distinctive sulphury nose and bitter on the lips - the best Robbies I have had for a number of years. Well done pub.

BrianGood27 Sep 2008 I had this in Cumbria where it was served with a sparkler, the result was a creamy, soapy brew. Here is was on gravity and it was like a different beer entirely. This was fruity with a sherbert sweetness, marmalade finish. Excellent condition.
