Hogan Sampling		14 Feb 2026	1st beer of this visit: Very good head and lacing and lasting well on this amber bitter from an independent brewery founded in 2004 and now at a new, state-of-the-art brewing site in Ashton Vale in South Bristol. A dry bitter first bite. A moreishly hoppiness rapidly rising from its mix of southern English hops, including Fuggles, Challenger and Jester. A good bitter hoppy note tap dancing on my taste buds with hints of marmalade, ginger and dark fruit to tantalise from its emerging sweetened maltiness. Its Maris Otter malt lending it a bready and biscuity touch. Not in the least fruited for me or my taste buds which suited us superbly on this bog-standard traditional British bitter. A dry, lingering spicy finish on its descent.
