Hogan Sampling		25 Jul 2026	Presented with very good head and lasting lacing on this Kentish hazy pale ale from Northdown set up in 2018 in Margate. At its lesser strength than the other Northdown ale on, this was the one for me although there was a similar hazy fruited ale to choose from. The chosen golden, straw-coloured pale ale was totally hazy and had the consistency of a fruit juice as aided by its soft malts derived from its oats, wheat and barley. A very tropical fruited first hit as I suspected would be the case. Its fruitiness dominated throughout with ripe stone fruits such as peach and apricot assaulting my taste buds alongside pineapple. Its grapefruit-infused hoppiness lingering from its 100% Australian hops, comprising Eclipse, Enigma, Ella and Vic Secret before the sail out with a touch of bitterness. Top notch condition but overly fruited for me personally.

Hogan Sampling		16 Aug 2025	Its murky appearance belied its taste 100%. Described as a hazy pale from this micro-brewery just outside Margate, it presented good head and lacing and this stuck to it. A very dry fruity first hit. A gentle pithy bitterness rising up from its malty body. Not overly fruited with the odd stone fruit and zesty citrus note or two. A moreish juicy fruit-infused hoppiness lapping up and down with a fruity dryness ebbing on its tidal flow down my appreciative gullet.
