A very well-attended beer festival in progress. The evening includes the presentation of the award for Greater London CAMRA Club of the Year. I list just the beers I tried from the 30 available.
| Canterbury Brewers - Loco IPA | 3.90 | | Superbly hopped, US-style IPA. |
| Ringway - Session | 3.80 | | Amber-coloured. Nice citrusy hops. |
| Rockin Robin - Reliant Robin (superseded by 3.7% version) | 4.20 | | Amber coloured, dry bitter. |
| North Star - Helmsman | 4.20 | | Decent pale ale. Good malt and hops balance. |
| Tír Dhá Ghlas - Jolly Roger | 3.70 | | Very traditional English bitter, full of caramelly, sweetish Crystal malt tastes and Kentish hops. |
| Cheshire Brewhouse - DBA | 4.60 | | Chestnut-coloured bitter; quite full-bodied and tangy. |
| Scarborough - Blonde | 3.80 | | This one a bit flat and out of condition from the stillage. Suspect it might be a bit dull anyway. |
27 Oct 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Another week and another home defeat for the club – at least the beer remains worth coming here for.
| Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | | Consistently excellent beer – enhanced here by gravity dispense. |
| Slater's - Western American IPA | 5.00 | | Amber/orange US-style pale ale with fruity and bitter hops. Quite dry. |

Another home match for the O’s and another abject performance. Like many here tonight, I agree that “I’m only here for the beer”.
| Hackney - Golden Ale | 4.00 | | This beer seems to be getting better and better. |
| Mighty Oak - Dry Bones | 3.80 | | Notably pale and very hoppy, even by Mighty Oak standards. |

A reduced beer range tonight to reflect the low attendance expectation for a cup game against Barnet.
| Mighty Oak - Oak Nouveau 2012 | 3.60 | | 2012 version of Mighty Oak’s green hop beer. Light gold in colour and quite smooth. Brewed using hops from a pub garden in castle Hedingham. |

18 Sep 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Happy days have returned to Brisbane Road (for now) and it is all smiles in here after the match until closing time. I did not write down the names of a couple of the beers that passed through quickly.
| Mighty Oak - Tiddly Om Prom Prom | 4.30 | | A traditional bitter in appearance and basic taste, but enhanced by some really good hops. |
| Goddards - Duck's Folly | 5.20 | | Brown, full bodied and a little bit sweet. Strength given as 5.2% |

13 Sep 2012 (Stephen Harris)
The football club has a very rare Thursday night fixture. It does not prove popular and there is a very small attendance – reflected in a rather reduced beer range here. I call in after the match and stay to closing.
| Mighty Oak - Maldon Gold | 3.80 | | Always a wise choice on any bar. |
| Reedley Hallows - Monkholme Premium | 4.20 | | A sweetish, malty, golden-coloured bitter. Some fruitiness from the hops. |
| Mighty Oak - Bee'r Constrictor | 4.00 | | An amber-coloured beer with a strong honey flavour and a bitter hop finish. |
| Joseph Holt (see also Holt's) - IPA | 3.80 | | A rather feeble interpretation of an IPA – really a routine pale ale, slightly enlivened by the use of Styrian Goldings. |
| Rudgate - Battle Axe | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| East London (ELB) - Pale Ale | 4.00 | Not Tried | |

| Reedley Hallows - Filly Close Blonde | 3.90 | | Golden ale with blackcurrant fruity hop flavours. |

The now-expected, large assembly of spectators here for the televised England v Italy game. Torture to watch, to be honest. But great to see such a good line-up of mostly locally-brewed beers. Live music to listen to on the outside terrace courtesy of Radio 1 and their Hackney event taking place just a few hundred yards away.
| Hackney - Golden Ale | 4.00 | | More golden-coloured hoppiness. |
| East London (ELB) - Jamboree | 4.80 | | Golden and hoppy. |
