Very busy in the early evening, but fast and efficient service meant this was not a problem. A special presentation of Thornbridge Brewery beers tonight. My group of four probably tried all 10 that were on cask, but we all felt they were a little lacklustre and not up to the standard you expect of that brewery.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Hopton4.30GoodPale and quite hoppy.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Beerkeepers5.30GoodA decent, hazy, pale, wheat beer with the additional of summer fruits. Would have benefitted from a cooler temperature.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Endcliffe5.20AcceptableAn ESB-style strong bitter. Sweetish and full of caramel flavours.

I arrived just as some live music was coming to an end in the main bar area – apparently it had been really good, and had clearly drawn quite a crowd.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Alechemy - Galaxy Burst IPA5.30ExcellentStick the word ‘Galaxy’ in a beer’s name and you can almost guarantee I’ll buy it. Lush, golden, hoppy loveliness.
Eden Mill (formerly Eden (St. Andrews)) - Clock Brew4.30GoodOops, a Scottish Heavy, possibly my least favourite beer style – I really should look at the small print on pump clips occasionally. A good example of its style and it did actually have some hops in, so I’ll compromise on ‘good’.

Pleasant mid-evening visit. Nice to be still finding Green Hop beers, but where are all the Pumpkin Ales this year?

Crowded; I sat out in the large rear yard for the first time – not sure why I have not been out here before. This weekend sees a special focus on London-brewed beers and there are another dozen or so on a stillage waiting to come on. All beers listed were through the handpumps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Fields - Shoreditch Triangle IPA6.00ExcellentPowerful IPA and good to see it in cask format.
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Yakima Valley ABA4.80ExcellentCrikey this is good! A strong, full-bodied, super-hoppy, US-style, Brown Ale. Close to five stars.

A bit more relaxed in this pub tonight than it can be at the end of the week.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ha'Penny - Hewitt's 'arf WIT Wheat IPA4.60GoodMy understanding is that Hewitt’s continue to use the brewing equipment at Ha’penny Brewery. This is an amber-coloured, very wheaty beer with bananary, estery tastes in the Bavarian style. It has hops too.

Very busy in here on Friday evening – noticeably four or five times as many people as in the Wetherspoon across the road. And still pouring in when I left at about 8:30. Good atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Otley - OG5.40ExcellentReally nice, golden, fruity, hoppy pint. Just my thing.
London Fields - Harvest Ale 20125.50ExcellentI was pleased to catch up with this green-hopped beer at last. Amber in colour, full-bodied, strong and hoppy. Sustained bitter finish.

The pub is found in Leytonstone, Greater London, E11 3AA.

A large, historic (founded by 1670) town centre pub in High Road. Famous in the 60s and 70s as a live music venue, it has hosted such famous names as Led Zeppelin, Yes, Genesis and Roxy Music, plus local heroes Atomic Rooster. But knocked around and abused in recent years under a succession of themes. Taken over by Antic and re-opened in June 2011 as a 'traditional pub'. Instantly immensely popular. There is a large main bar with big tables for sharing, more of a dining lay-out to the part-screened rear area, and there is a big yard at the back. Pavement tables too. During 2019 the ballroom has been brought back into use and hotel accommodation is now available. Transferred from Antic to Urban Pubs & Bars in late summer 2024.

We have visited this pub 37 times, seen 230 different beers and tried 85 of them.
