Very busy in the early evening, but fast and efficient service meant this was not a problem. A special presentation of Thornbridge Brewery beers tonight. My group of four probably tried all 10 that were on cask, but we all felt they were a little lacklustre and not up to the standard you expect of that brewery.
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Hopton | 4.30 | | Pale and quite hoppy. |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Beerkeepers | 5.30 | | A decent, hazy, pale, wheat beer with the additional of summer fruits. Would have benefitted from a cooler temperature. |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Endcliffe | 5.20 | | An ESB-style strong bitter. Sweetish and full of caramel flavours. |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Lord Marples | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling | 5.20 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Brother Rabbit | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Beadeca's Well | 5.30 | Not Tried | |

I arrived just as some live music was coming to an end in the main bar area – apparently it had been really good, and had clearly drawn quite a crowd.
| Alechemy - Galaxy Burst IPA | 5.30 | | Stick the word ‘Galaxy’ in a beer’s name and you can almost guarantee I’ll buy it. Lush, golden, hoppy loveliness. |
| Eden Mill (formerly Eden (St. Andrews)) - Clock Brew | 4.30 | | Oops, a Scottish Heavy, possibly my least favourite beer style – I really should look at the small print on pump clips occasionally. A good example of its style and it did actually have some hops in, so I’ll compromise on ‘good’. |
| Marble - Pint (was 3.9%) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |
| Colchester - Red Diesel | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Dancing Duck - Duck's Courage | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Marble - Best | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| Ha'Penny - Hewitt's 'arf WIT Wheat IPA | 4.60 | Not Tried | Apparently Hewitt's are brewing at Brentwood just now. |
| Big Penny (formerly Truman's) as of late 2022 contract brewed - Swift | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
14 Nov 2013 (Stephen Harris)

| Franklins - Grumpy Guvnor | 4.50 | | Chestnut-coloured bitter. |
| Hand Drawn Monkey - Liberty Special | 3.80 | | Pale and cloudy. Sharp and bitter. |

06 Sep 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Crowded; I sat out in the large rear yard for the first time – not sure why I have not been out here before. This weekend sees a special focus on London-brewed beers and there are another dozen or so on a stillage waiting to come on. All beers listed were through the handpumps.
| London Fields - Shoreditch Triangle IPA | 6.00 | | Powerful IPA and good to see it in cask format. |
| Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Yakima Valley ABA | 4.80 | | Crikey this is good! A strong, full-bodied, super-hoppy, US-style, Brown Ale. Close to five stars. |
| Ha'Penny - London Stone | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| By The Horns - Diamond Geezer | 4.90 | Not Tried | |

28 May 2013 (Stephen Harris)
A bit more relaxed in this pub tonight than it can be at the end of the week.
| Ha'Penny - Hewitt's 'arf WIT Wheat IPA | 4.60 | | My understanding is that Hewitt’s continue to use the brewing equipment at Ha’penny Brewery. This is an amber-coloured, very wheaty beer with bananary, estery tastes in the Bavarian style. It has hops too. |
| Oldershaw - Newton's Drop | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | Not Tried | |
| Maxim - Double Maxim | 4.70 | Not Tried | |

24 Nov 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Very busy on Saturday evening, with a bouncer on the door later on.
| By The Horns - Wolfie Smith Brown Ale | 3.20 | | Full-bodied, malty and chocolaty, dark beer. Remarkable body for such low alcohol strength. |
| Colchester - Trinovantes Gold | 4.30 | | Golden beer with a hop mix that gives both bitter and citrus flavours. |
| Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - Kiwi | 3.80 | Not Tried | |

| Grain - 3.1.6. | 3.90 | Not Tried | |

26 Oct 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Very busy in here on Friday evening – noticeably four or five times as many people as in the Wetherspoon across the road. And still pouring in when I left at about 8:30. Good atmosphere.
| Otley - OG | 5.40 | | Really nice, golden, fruity, hoppy pint. Just my thing. |
| London Fields - Harvest Ale 2012 | 5.50 | | I was pleased to catch up with this green-hopped beer at last. Amber in colour, full-bodied, strong and hoppy. Sustained bitter finish. |
| Deverell's - Tall Hot Blonde | 4.00 | | Pale, sweet and malty (Although I had just drunk a hop monster immediately before). |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | Not Tried | |
| Moorhouse's - Black Witch | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
