11 Jun 2021 (Jack William)
Beer o’clock, 14 mile hot cycle. The beer went down very well.
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
11 May 2021 (Jack William)
Ideal place for a pint stop after a 44 mile ride via Hythe, Folkestone and Dover. Early evening - two tables of locals in fine form.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - She Sells Sea Shells | 4.70 | | Top Gadds offering. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top | 3.80 | Not Tried | Looked a bit cloudy - but was being avidly supped by some. |
27 Apr 2021 (Jack William)
Cycled over for 5pm opening. Soon busy with regulars. Good banter.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Oatmeal Pale | 4.50 | | A superb pint - unusual combination of oatmeal in a pale ale - works very well. |
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00
15 Apr 2021 (Jack William)
5 pm opening. Nice sunny spot on the side of the pub. Good to be back here without my plastic container.
Kent - Pale | 4.00 | | Sparkling, full of flavour. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | Not Tried
31 Dec 2020 (Jack William)
Takeaway at 1730. This little pub has persevered throughout the year and has been well supported. I think it will make it back to normal in 2021 unlike many others I fear.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Bit weak to see off 2020 - but ok. |
18 Dec 2020 (Jack William)
Takeaway of course - but managed to sup a pint with a local outside, well away from the pub whilst keeping socially distant.
When will this nightmare end?
Kent - KGB or Kent Golding Bitter | 4.10
27 Oct 2020 (Jack William)
Despite the rain and with darkening skies I cycled here for 5pm opening. Well worth it, a jolly gathering of locals. Appropriately my favourite pub for my 1400th entry.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40
Kent - Craft Pale | 4.00 | | |
16 Oct 2020 (Jack William)
5 pm opening. Social distancing and table service now including 4 pint jugs. Half a dozen regulars in the first hour - jolly banter as usual.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Rye Pale Ale | 4.00 | | A superb straw coloured ale in sparkling condition. |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Miller's Ale (originally 4.5%) | 4.20 | Not Tried
06 Oct 2020 (Jack William)
Final stop on my mini tour of East Kent.
Just about at capacity for these challenging times.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Green Hop Ale | 4.30
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Summer Top | 3.60 | | Surprised to see this in October. |
20 Aug 2020 (Jack William)
Early evening - about 3/4 through my day’s cycle. Well patronised again today. The lockdown hasn’t seem to have affected this pub too badly - but you can’t eat out to help out here - unless you want crisps, peanuts or twiglets. I settled for the exotic twiglets.
Kent - Prohibition | 4.80 | | Delicious. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | Not Tried
