Came to see the band Juicy Lucy. Pub was packed out, great atmosphere.
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - DogBolter Dark Porter | 5.60 | | I had the first pint out of the barrel. It was gorgeous, thick and rich. Like christmas cake in a glass. |
| Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | Towards the end of the barrel, quite hazy with a bit of an aftertaste. Everything else was normal hophead though. Grassy and hoppy. |
| Cottage - IKB | 4.40 | | Not bad. Malty with a bit of fruity caramel. Another average beer from Cottage. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Burton Bridge - Damson Porter | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Hydes - Finders Keepers | 4.70 | Not Tried | |

There was a band on, and they were a bit rubbish. A couple of my friends were obviously a bit drunk and decided that it would be a good idea to boo them as they finished. Surprisingly it didn't go down too well. I left them to it and hid by the bar.
| Burton Bridge - Damson Porter | 4.50 | | Nice fruity flavour to it but too watery. With a bit more body it would be a great beer. |
| Beartown (latterly part of Manning Brewers) - Snoopy's Special | 4.20 | | I'm always weary of novelty beers but this one was quite good. Malty and easy drinking. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Hydes - Finders Keepers | 4.70 | Not Tried | I had a sip of my friends and I wasn't impressed. |

Came for a quick pint after the Arty just to see if Pete had anything interesting on. To be honest I was pretty drunk at this point, more drunk than I deserved to be as well. But my memory fails me at this point.
| Dark Star - Six Hop | 6.50 | | Strange having this straight after the Jaipur, both incredibly hoppy yet both so very different. I think I prefer this one, got almost a barley wine flavour to it. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried | |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 3 | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Marston's - Sweet Chariot | 4.80 | Not Tried | Despite my warning my brother went ahead and had this. Suffice to say he regretted it. |

Pretty busy, it always is these days. Grabbed a seat up top. We've been on a quest for a nice dark pint of something tonight and even Churchies has disappointed us.
| Marston's - Sweet Chariot | 4.80 | | I knew I wasn't going to like it by the fact it was brewed by Marstons, but I still gave it a chance. I shouldn't have, this is verging on awful. Overly sweet and cloying, a lot of toffee but nothing else really. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried | |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |

I just can't keep myself away from this place. It was absolutely heaving as a local band were playing. Great crowd, great beer and great music. I left at 1am but it showed no signs of closing.
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | | On great form. Creamy with malt and toffee with a complex fruity flavour. |
| Crouch Vale - Amarillo | 5.00 | | Lots of hops, floral aroma. A very pretty beer. |
| Dark Star - Six Hop | 6.50 | | Equally good as it was last night. Intensely hoppy with bags of fruit. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | | This is everywhere you see, but I'd forgotten that it's actually a pretty good beer. Sweet with lots of toffee and malt. Very easy drinking bitter. |
| Hook Norton - Hooky Gold | 4.10 | | I don't know why I got this because I already knew I'm not a big fan. Quite bitter and hoppy and not that easy to drink. Not a bad beer though. |
| Whitstable - Native Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Smiles - Old Tosser | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
13 Feb 2009 (Blair)
I was in such need of a good pint that I actually ran here from the station. Pretty quiet in tonight, but then everywhere is in ramsgate on a friday night. No Pete tonight which was a shame, but had a good session nonetheless.
| Dark Star - Six Hop | 6.50 | | This is a great beer but it really knocks you for six. Extremely hoppy as you'd expect, loads of fruit especially grapefruit. So easy to drink. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Great Scot! | 4.70 | | I really like this. Such a starnge combination of whisky with a pale ale, it really does work though. |
| Dark Star - Old Ale (aka Old Chestnut) | 4.00 | | Dark and relatively thin in the mouth. A little smoky with some chestnuts and malt. Good beer, but I was mildly disappointed if I'm honest. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - Native Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

Officially my favourite pub in Thanet now. Pete is a fantastic Landlord. Probably the best band I've ever seen playing in a pub. The Shaggy Dogs, they were french but it's not their fault I suppose.
| Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 4.70 | | Incredibly smooth. Gorgeous hops. I need not say more. |
| Okell's - Aile | 4.80 | | Wow, wow, wow. Oh, and wow. This beer is amazing. So rich and fruity, with lots of chocolate and malt. I had 3 pints. |
| Cairngorm - Gold | 4.50 | | I detected a little diacetyl. Quite fruity and creamy, was a bit synthetic though. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
03 Feb 2009 (Blair)
It was packed with people eating as they have a budget busting new deal on food midweek. Felt more like a restaurant than a pub tonight, but it was still good to see a pub doing well.
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | | Not quite at it's best but still a very enjoyable pint. |
| Exmoor (now brewed by Hogs Back) - Hart | 4.80 | | Dark red/brown ale. Very sweet and fruity. Not my kind of beer really, but some of my friends thought highly of it. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

About twenty or so people scattered around the pub. Great atmosphere in here, and it has to be said; Pete is a fantastic landlord. A band were just setting up while we were here, but we were on a tight schedule and only had one.
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Great Scot! | 4.70 | | I really wasn't sure about this at first, but it grew on me. It's like no other beer I've ever tried. A sweet pale ale with a hefty kick of whisky towards the end. Very interesting beer. |
| Ringwood - Old Thumper (now superseded by 5.1% version - separate entry) | 5.60 | Not Tried | |
| Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | Not Tried | |

A few people in, enough to make it seem busyish anyway. Hadn't been to the pub in a while so it was good to be here. Pete the Landlord was his usual hospitable self, even informed us of the new Gadds' he was hiding out back.
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - 80/- | 4.60 | | Dark ruby, brown in colour with little to no head. Extremely malty with a little bit of underlying butterscotch. Very nice for it's style, unfortunately just not my favourite kind of ale. |
| Ossett - Silver King | 4.30 | | Pale straw coloured ale with a crisp citrus flavour. Quite lagerish in it's approach. Not bad. |
| Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - Native Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Ossett - Resolution | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
