Came to meet friends. Five of us in the end. The pub was fairly busy with the Beatles and Queen playing on the stereo.

Early afternoon and busy with a few at the bar and group of ale drinkers enjoying the variety and quality of ales on offer as one expects here.

Mid evening. Unusually quiet in here tonight. Just 3 of us in the bar. Good ales, daft conversation. A Ruby Mild on also - not sure whose.

Early Friday evening. A good smattering of people in all areas and plenty of comings and goings as I supped and chatted. This is an outstanding Canterbury pub, good variety of ales on at an average of £4 a pint.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Stan the Man4.20ExcellentFirst time I’d come across this beer from Gadd’s. Full of flavour and great body.
Kent - Prohibition4.80GoodJust wasn’t as tasty as the Gadd’s, but a lovely pint nonetheless.
Kent - Nah Na Nah4.50GoodA tribute to the vindaloo football anthem.

26 May 2024 (Jack William)
Evening visit, beer festival - just missed the band who had finished well before the advertised end time of 8. The beers have obviously been going well and only two remained outside with the “reserves” already on inside. Won’t be worth a special visit Monday. Plenty of people inside and out - a good vibe. About 8 ales on in total.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Salopian - Oracle4.00Excellent
Moorhouse's - Pride of Pendle4.10AcceptableOne of the two beer festival ales left outside. Rather flat and unremarkable.
25 May 2024 (Jack William)
Contemporaneous entry. Beer festival underway- goes on until Monday - live music Sunday. About 20 ales on. (Will add more later).
