Hogan Sampling		31 Aug 2025	Fresh on this Sunday was this Essex Citra Pale from Maldon with the micro open from 1pm. Head and lacing, very good, and lasting, good. A fruit-infused first bite. A dry hoppiness aided by lashings of Citra and winning over its fruitiness emanating from hints of passion fruit, nectarine and orange peel. A touch too full of a citrusy note for me personally and veering up from the citric acid found in these fruits but its dry hoppiness made it sufficiently moreish to carry on in the face of a few others that had been on for a good few days.
Hogan Sampling		01 Apr 2025	It was up on the blackboard as a golden and also recommended by a fellow regular. This Maldon ale from Essex was according to the tasting notes a Citra pale. Came with superb head and lacing on its second night on. A very hoppy first hit. Only a mild fruitiness in the mouthfeel despite a mention of passion fruit, nectarine and orange peel. Its dry hoppiness won the contest for me thankfully and lingered in its aftertaste. It was very moreish!

Hogan Sampling		02 Mar 2025	Very good head and lacing on this Essex-based Citra pale from Maldon on its first day on. A very dry, hoppy and citrusy first hit. A sharpness in the mouthfeel with all the fruits erupting including passion fruit, nectarine and orange. A dryness overtook the fruitiness in the lingering aftertaste.
