Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

MickExceptional24 Oct 2009 Very nice, fruity and rich for such a pale beer. Delicious and dangerous!
BlairExcellent22 Oct 2009 An odd beer this one. A barley wine aroma to it, yet very pale and more like a strong golden ale in flavour. Rich, fruity and quite syrupy.

StephenExcellent10 Oct 2009 A half was enough I had to get a bus home but a really good beer.
IanExceptional07 Oct 2009 Brilliant. The flavours were more on the tangerine marmalade side. Full and warming and inviting. Even got non beer drinkers to enjoy it. A 2/3rds mix of Attila to 1/3 JHB worked even better.

The New Crown, Southgate, Greater London

IanExcellent15 Mar 2009 Strong hop aroma and surprisingly peachy on the fruit. Mixing this and JHB half and half was perfect. Oh and England beat the stuffing out of the French at rugby in the Six Nations.

IanExcellent06 Feb 2009 Normally my first beer of the festival turns out to be the best. I haven't had this since having it years ago at the Oakham brewery tap in Peterborough so I was really anticipating having it again, plus it was Camra Winter Beer of the Year 2009. Slightly hot aroma, lots of hops. Slightly syrupy in mouth, lots of yellow grapefruit on finish and leafy hop. Lovely

BlairExcellent25 Oct 2008 Big, fruity ale that really doesn't taste as strong as it is. Quite sweet with a toffee apple flavour going on. Good beer, but it hit me big time.
