23 Aug 2020 (Jack William)
Sunday lunchtime - I sat in the garden and enjoyed the peace and quiet near the middle of the city.
| Redemption - Hopspur | 4.50 | | I lied - having put my notes on here I saw that this other Redemption ale was on - superb. |

| St Austell - Trelawny | 3.80 | Not Tried | |

Early evening- the newly extended garden was very busy.
Much talk about the refugees landing on the Kent coast - the government has clearly done a good job at diverting attention from the main issues of the day. I didn’t join in.

| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried | |

| Kent - Brewers Reserve | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Musket - Trigger | 3.60 | Not Tried | |
12 Jul 2020 (Jack William)
Late Sunday afternoon visit. The garden has been extended by the demolition of a small garage. Table service throughout as COVID-19 precautions and plastic screens around the bar. A good few tables occupied outside. Very pleasant.
| Kent - Session Pale | 3.70 | | Sparklingly fresh. |
| Anarchy - X-Ray Eyes | 5.70 | | Unfined - a superb peachy, full bodied beer. |
| St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Brew Foundation (brewed at Wincle) - C-Bomb | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Butcombe - Original | 4.00 | Not Tried | |

29 Dec 2019 (Jack William)
Well this just about wraps up my recent foray of Canterbury pubs - for a short while. Joined my son and friends for a few.
Quietish - but the jukebox was being well used for nostalgic tunes.
| Kent - Brewers Reserve | 5.00 | | Great body, easy drinking. |
| Kent - Yule Log | 4.50 | | On key-keg - very good, smooth, dark beer. |
| Bad Seed - Flare Star | 4.20 | | A pale ale in good nick - not much in the way of flavour - but I am struggling with a December lurgy that seems to have attacked my senses of taste and smell. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Kent - Cobnut | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Moor - So'Hop | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

20 Nov 2019 (Jack William)
Early evening visit to celebrate the end of a few days decorating. I left my cold, gloss-smelling lounge to sit and warm up in front of the roaring wood burning stove and enjoy the classic sounds from the jukebox.
7 ales on in all - but didn’t note them all.
| Kent - Mandarina | 4.50 | | So good I didn’t try any of the other tempting brews. |
| Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur | 5.90 | Not Tried | |
| St Austell - Trelawny | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
18 Oct 2019 (Jack William)
Early Friday evening - very busy, lots of familiar faces and a chance meeting with an old school friend. We enjoyed the beers as we caught up on a few years.

| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | | |

06 Sep 2019 (Jack William)
Early evening - a good scattering of customers inside and in the garden with a number of familiar faces. The juke box selection included a Vera Lynn number but nobody seemed to mind.
| Kent - KGB or Kent Golding Bitter | 4.10 | | Excellent blend of goldings and fuggles hops with a good body. |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day | 4.30 | | |
| Redemption - Hopspur | 4.50 | | Subtle bitter. |
| Tiny Rebel - Super Sharp Shooter | 3.80 | | Just a taster - badged as a “Marmalade Pale” - too sweet and slightly scented for my liking. |
| Black Sheep - Best Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Swannay (formerly Highland) - Island Hopping | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
09 Jul 2019 (Jack William)
Evening, reasonable crowd for some live music outside. A very pleasant acoustic guitarist.
| Three Sods - Mon Chéri IPA | 4.50 | | Unfiltered- but pretty clear - and a superb fresh, hoppy flavour. |
| Redemption - Hopspur | 4.50 | | Disappointing- especially as I had mentioned to someone recently that I’d never had a rough pint in this place. |
| St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - She Sells Sea Shells | 4.70 | Not Tried | |

Early evening and a few around the bar area, great atmosphere in this cosy drinkers pub, I could've quite happily stayed here and worked my way through the selection.
