Having seen Common Conspiracy on the day before I came to have it ...only to find I'd misread the pump clip and it was Divine Conspiracy. No one else in but me.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Good soft mouth feel. Nice astringent metallic hop bite. A touch too warm and, as a result, a bit lack lustre. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Divine Conspiracy | 4.60 | | Fortunately I only had a half of this because it was clearly bottom of the barrel judging by all the floaters. Smelt of tart summer flowers and the honey could be tasted quite strongly. The Belgium theme came through quite strongly too. Bit cloying. Didn't fancy finishing it. |
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid | 3.70 | Not Tried
Nelson - Powder Monkey | 4.40 | Not Tried
Goddards - Scrumdiggity | 4.00 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Copper Top | 4.10 | Not Tried
Abigale - Samphire | 4.10 | Not Tried

What a great beer line up. Relaxed as usual. The landlord was fiddling with some electrical contraption that was laid out on one of the tables in between serving customers. I really like this pub.
Abigale - Samphire | 4.10 | | With so many winners on at the bar I still plumped for this because I'm desperate to get a good pint of it. This pint was quite lively and had a toasted nut bite on the finish. There was a subtle but interesting malt body going on but the nut bite overtook it a little too much for my liking. Still, I like Samphire and it was a nice pint. |

Cricket was on up the road so a reasonable collection of people were in. Great relaxed pub this.
St Austell - Tinner's Ale | 3.70 | | A nice clean pint of this light brown bitter. Reminiscent of a tin mine. |
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried
Hopdaemon - Green Daemon | 5.00 | Not Tried
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Wells Bombardier (now superseded by 4.1% version) | 4.30 | Not Tried

First stop on our miniature pub crawl of Canterbury. I think it's been a couple of years since I've been here but little has changed. The new barman was a friendly chap, yup this is still a good pub.
Hopdaemon - Dominator | 5.10 | | Malty, chocolatey beer. Tasty but not the dominator I remember from a few years ago. |
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid | 3.70 | Not Tried

Wantsum - Hengist | 5.00 | Not Tried

26 Mar 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Very quiet on a Saturday lunchtime - I was the only punter from 12.15-12.35.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Silver Top | 4.50 | | Billed as a Cream Stout, dark brown in colour. Quite sweet, with some coffee and chocolate notes. Could be a bit more thick and creamy. My score 16/20. |
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid | 3.70 | Not Tried
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried

First pub on my Ides of March pub crawl around Durovernum (there's always some excuse). Quiet Tuesday lunchtime. Only a few in and most of them reading the papers.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | | Dark golden/amber colour, biscuit malt and great zingy bitterness. Really fresh tasting ale, excellent. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried
Cottage - Viscount | 4.70 | Not Tried

Handful in. Relaxed and friendly.
St Austell - Proper Job | 4.50 | | Condition was a bit lacking but the flavours shone through anyway. Great beer, light tangerine flavours with a syrupy body. |
