Hogan Sampling		10 Jan 2026	Fresh on was this Maidstone-brewed pale amber bitter with very good head and lacing and lasting. A fruited first hit. A bitterness rising assisted by its WGV (Whitbread Golding Variety) and East Kent Golding hops. A good helping of fruitiness seeing this bitter out but with a malty aftertaste prevailing. It was first introduced as "Maidstone Light" in 1984 and a year after Goacher's Brewery was set up.

Hogan Sampling		27 Nov 2025	This was very fresh on by all accounts as another customer at the bar was recommending the New Bristol Bitter which had just gone. This Maidstone-brewed pale amber bitter therefore did come with very good head and its attendant lacing lasted well throughout. A fresh hoppy first hit. A dry moreish hoppiness rising on the palate with the occasional hoppy bitter note emerging and all aided by its East Kent Goldings, lending it hints of honey, fresh herbs and spice, and WGV (Whitbread Goldings Variety) hops, the latter lending it earthy, herbal and floral flavours. A dry hoppiness sailing downwards and very moreish and so stuck to it.

A fruity hoppiness rising aided by its mix of Whitbread Golding Variety (WGV) and East Kent Golding hops. A fruit-infused bitterness then getting in on the act with a floral hoppy note or two sailing out.

Hogan Sampling		02 Aug 2025	Second day on now and still holding its head and lacing and lasting well. This Maidstone pale amber light bitter proved to be one of the best samplings of it for me again this evening and in first trying it Friday evening. A slightly fruited bitter first bite. A gentle bitterness rising up with the odd fruity note or two from its WGV (Whitbread Goldings Variety) lending herbal and floral flavours and East Kent Golding hops lending apart from the same, a hint of spice, honey and lemon. A pleasantly dry hoppiness certainly lingering.
Hogan Sampling		01 Aug 2025	Not my favourite Goacher's but on very good form on its first day on was this Maidstone amber light bitter. Very good head and lacing and lasting to the bottom of the glass. A mildly fruity first bite aided by its WGV (Whitbread Golding Variety) and East Kent Golding hops. A mildly fruity first bite. A gentle bitterness rising. A fruity hoppiness winning over aided by the herbal and floral flavours from the WGV hop. A distinctly very bitter aftertaste lingering and for me very moreish when fresh on. Perhaps it tires after its first day but certainly the best Fine Light I can recall sampling.
Hogan Sampling		20 Jun 2025	Third night on and holding its head and lacing is this Maidstone-based pale amber bitter and lasting. A first hit of a bitter dryness. A moreish hoppiness hitting the taste buds. Not my favourite Goacher's but did not want anything too strong before being up early the following day for the coast and so did just the job. Its bitterness winning over the hops and a pleasant dryness lingering.

Personally not my favourite Goacher's as slightly lacklustre in flavouring I find but perfectly palatable nevertheless.

Decent hop on end, in fact distinctively hoppy, Nicely satisfying and drinkable, bit of caramel/toffee. It absolutely sings. Fresh satsuma and then excellent fresh hop sting. I was sat on the platform at Maidstone East 10 minutes later and could still feel this hop sting on the tongue.
